Beyonce Is Noted For Her Style Around The World

by Madison Alcedo

Although it may seem like Kim Kardashian and Beyonce rule the world, that is definitely not the case for all parts of the globe. During Marie Claire's second annual Global Beauty Forum, beauty icons from different countries were curated to show how diverse beauty can actually be.

It's true that beauty can be all shapes, sizes, and colors. And even though celebrities like the Kardashians, Beyonce, and Karlie Kloss have a universal presence, there are many countries around the world who view other celebrities as their beauty icons.

With help from Marie Claire editors at several of their international editions and a Peach & Lily founder, here is a list of celebrities that were chosen as beauty inspiration for several different countries and regions around the world.

1. United States: Kim Kardashian, Karlie Kloss, and Beyoncé

Because of our continuing growth of diversity in the U.S., there really isn't one woman who defines "U.S. beauty." Erin Flaherty, Beauty and Health Director of Marie Claire says that Beyonce, Kim Kardashian, and Karlie Kloss are a few of the most sought-out beauty icons in the U.S. because of Beyoncé's "home-grown talent," Kim's selfie skills, and Karlie's "girl-next-door" look.

2. Australia: Gisele Bundchen

"With flowing, sun-kissed hair, an athletic physique, glowing limbs and healthy lifestyle, Gisele Bundchen is a beauty icon that Australian women find inspiring," says Alex Noonan, beauty director at Marie Claire Australia.

3. Spain: Penelope Cruz

"I would have to say the beauty icon in Spain would be someone very similar to Penelope Cruz, because she has inspired many women in Spain to believe in their capabilities and make them aspire to anything they wish, knowing that if they work hard enough for it, they have a fair chance of reaching their goals, like she has done," says Susana Blazquez, beauty director at Marie Claire Spain. "Also, she is very beautiful and smart, and has the Mediterranean beauty we love.”

4. South Korea: Miranda Kerr

"I haven't yet seen her in any ads, but she certainly graces a lot of beauty magazines in Korea and does things like signings and throw[ing] the first pitch at baseball games," says Alicia Yoon, founder of Asian beauty site Peach & Lily.

Yoon also says that women in South Korea adore Kerr's "soft baby features."
