Man Repeller Subscription Boxes Are In The Works

by Alexa Tucker

You might want to make room in your mailbox for this one. During her panel at the TechCrunch Disrupt NY conference, blogger Leandra Medine revealed that Man Repeller subscription boxes are in the works. Does the world really need another direct-to-your-door kit? Probably not, but a strong case could be made for the world needing more Leandra.

Granted, the box is still in its very, very early stages of production, so don't expect to sign up anytime soon. But once the box makes its way out of its infancy, Medine is planning to include five limited-edition designer items that she considers must-haves each season. If there's one thing better than getting inside fashion knowledge from her online, it's getting it at your door. Plus, she's planning on building content around the boxes, too.

No word on prices yet, but I have to imagine that they'll be more expensive than, say, a Birchbox. It is fashion, not beauty products, which must hike up the price a bit. However, "It’s not really a matter of cheap or not cheap," Medine said at the conference. "I feel like I would want it to be an actual, useful service that made life feel a little easier and more fun,"

The plan is to roll them out in the next two years or so, and till then, we'll just have to be patient. It's easier said than done, though, because I am just dying to know exactly what she'd put inside. No matter what, though, I doubt boxes will disappoint.
