Proof Xtina's "Come On Over" Vid Is Still Flawless
In 2000, Christina Aguilera released the music video for "Come On Over (All I Want Is You)", the fourth single off of her self-titled debut album. With its walls of metallic fabric, saturated hues, "futuristic" set designs, and its 2001: A Space Odyssey -esque sterility, the clip is about as far away from a denim jacket and oceanfront mansion as you can get. Directed by Paul Hunter—the auteur behind iconic videos such as Mariah Carey’s “Honey”, Usher’s “My Way”, TLC’s “Unpretty”, Lenny Kravitz’s “Fly Away”, Britney Spears and Madonna's “Me Against The Music”, and D’Angelo’s “Untitled (How Does It Feel)”—Aguilera’s fifth music video is all things entertaining and eye-catching. There are costume changes! There are color scheme changes! There are group dance routines! There are silver orbs! There are cubbies for humans! There is a confetti explosion! This video has it all!
It's been almost 15 years since it was slaying every other music video on the Total Request Live chart, but I still covetjust about everything in the "Come On Over (All I Want Is You)" vid. Here are 17 wondrous things from the video that I wish were a part of my life:
These Sleeveless Blouses
Gimme all of those blue and purple tops, please and thank you!
And this sparkly green one!
Oh! Oh! Don't forget this white halter top!
These Pants
Whether they're camo...
...white + rhinestones...
...plaid...
...or lime green, they're a-OK by me.
Bonus points if the pants lace up at the side!!!!!
Next-level garments.
This Yellow Jumpsuit
"But Mom! I really want a yellow jumpsuit for picture day!"
These Red Lowlights
“But Mom! I really want maroon streaks in my hair for picture day!”
These Accessories
The nameplate necklace + gold armband combo is such a classic look.
The silver nails + whatever that ring/bracelet is combo is too chic for words.
This is the temporary rhinestone tattoo's world. We're just living in it.
This Bedroom
It's more than anything my Limited Too-loving heart could ever hope for. While we're on the subject of household decor...
This Chair
I'm not exactly sure about the design (do your legs go on top of the chair's legs?), but for all I know, it could be the most comfortable seat ever. Put it on my wish list!
This Whatever This Is
It looks like something from The Sims, so I'm into it.
This CD Player Thing
What a conversation piece!
This Staircase
For all of my grand entrances, obviously.
