'Breaking Bad's Vince Gilligan Headed to 'Community' Because The TV Gods Heard Our Prayers

Praise the spirit of Walter White, a thing we didn't even realize we wanted is happening: Vince Gillian will guest star on Community , proving that yes, he is one of the coolest showrunners out there. Nothing can replace Breaking Bad in our Sunday lineup, but Community is a damn good place to start trying to fill the hole it left in our ravaged hearts.

As first reported by Entertainment Weekly, Gilligan will be making an appearance in a Season 5 episode of the beloved NBC comedy. It will be his first acting gig, and he'll be playing a "smooth-talking gold digger" who ends up the cause of a fight between Annie (Alison Brie) and Abed (Danny Pudi).

He joins Breaking Bad star Jonathan Banks and Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz on the show, though it's yet to be seen if they'll all be in the same episode.

Community returns Jan. 2 at 8 p.m., and we highly suggest you already start brainstorming all the different ways in which the show will work in its Breaking Bad references. Or will the entire episode actually be one giant Breaking Bad homage? Because we would be down for that. Or maybe it will be an homage to that Breaking Bad ice-skating homage Gilligan helped film a little while ago.

Now we're just left to wonder if he'll be wearing a tee from his impressively wide selection of Breaking Bad shirts.
