'Almost Famous' Stars Reunite — PHOTO

Fifteen years ago, Kate Hudson broke out as a golden goddess in Cameron Crowe's acclaimed 2000 hit movie Almost Famous. Not only did she become a household name, but she also nabbed Golden Globe and Oscar nominations for her role as Penny Lane in the movie. Flash forward to 2015: Hudson had an impromptu Almost Famous reunion with co-stars Eric Stonestreet and Billy Crudup on Saturday and the actress posted a photo of it to her Instagram account. The trio look cozy in the photo, which Hudson captioned: "Impromptu Almost Famous reunion :) @ericstonestreet 'Your mom called....she freaked me out' And then there's that other guy far left... #AlmostFamousLove."

The quote is one of Stonestreet's lines from the movie as Sheldon the Desk Clerk. The other guy on the far left in the pic? Well, that would be Crudup, who played her love interest and rockstar Russell Hammond in Almost Famous. And check out how far they've come from their Almost Famous days. Stonestreet, who was a virtual unknown back in 2000, has won two Primetime Emmys for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his own breakout role as Cameron on ABC's long-running sitcom Modern Family.

Crudup has continued acting on the big screen as well as the stage. Since Almost Famous, he's appeared in Big Fish, Watchmen, Public Enemies, Eat Pray Love, and he won a Tony Award in 2007 as Best Featured Actor in a Play for his role in The Coast of Utopia. Hudson has been in a bunch of films, including Something Borrowed, Nine, Bride Wards, Wish I Was Here, and she guest starred on Fox's Glee.

Fun fact: Zooey Deschanel also had a small role in the movie as Anita Miller, the sister who inspires teenage rock journalist William (played by Patrick Fugit) to love music and leads him to pursue covering Hammond's band Stillwater for Rolling Stone (based on Crowe's own experiences as a teenage journalist for Rolling Stone).

Looks like Deschanel's character was right. Check out the reunion photo below and reminisce along with them.
