Woman Gets A 4.0 GPA And A Marriage Proposal

by Kat George

Some people just have it all, right? Like Ashley Nelson, the woman who graduated with a 4.0 GPA and was proposed to onstage at the graduation ceremony by her very romantic boyfriend. She also has perfect hair, but I don't want to reduce her to that. Even though it is literally perfect. Like her grades. Ashley was graduating from Bridgewater State University, when their university president, Dana Mohler-Faria, stopped the ceremony in order to announce that someone in the room wanted to ask a question. Cheers went up as Ashley's boyfriend, Josh Tillinghast, dressed mighty sharp, might I add, took to the stage. With a 4.0 grade point average, at this point Ashley probably had figured out what was going on.

With the most adorably stoked/goofy face ever, Josh pulled Ashley away from the pew, told her she was his best friend (AW!), that he wants to spend the rest of his life with her (DOUBLE AW!) and that he loves her (TRIPLE AW!). He then took to the traditional knee in order to present her with the ring (and also asked for the blessing of her father, which is unnecessary, but still sort of sweet). She said yes, and he lifted her into an embrace that would make The Notebook jealous. It was a seriously good day for Ashley, obviously.

Watch the whole adorable scene below:

Believe it or not, this is by no means the first or only surprise proposal at a graduation. I've dug a little and found some other pretty cute ones:

1. This incredibly emotional proposal at nursing school graduation

2. This adorably nervous mid-speech proposal

3. This military themed Air Force graduation proposal

4. This ambush on stage proposal

5. This guy whose friends are so excited about his proposal they don't even make sense

Congratulations, you bunch of adorable nerds.
