The Olsen Twins Won't Be In 'Fuller House'

by Tracy Dye

"Goodnight Michelle" is right! As we all eagerly await the Netflix spinoff of Full House — which will be titled Fuller House — I am sad to report that it has been confirmed that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will not reprise the role they shared of Michelle Tanner on the '90s sitcom. Although the spinoff is slated to center on the adult lives of D.J. Tanner (Candace Cameron Bure) and Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber), we were still set on seeing the rest of the cast (or at least most of them) appear via guest spots — especially with heartthrob and greek yogurt enthusiast, John Stamos (aka, Uncle Jesse), set to produce the reboot. Alas, of all the previous stars who are set to make appearances, the Olsen twins will not be included.

According to a recent report, executive producer Robert L. Boyett issued the following statement regarding the Olsen twins appearing in the spinoff:

“Although Ashley and Mary-Kate will not be a part of Fuller House, I know how much Full House has meant to them and they are still very much considered family...It has been exciting to see how they have built their professional careers, and I support their choice to focus on their fashion brands and various business endeavors. I appreciate their support and good wishes towards Fuller House."

I would have much preferred a "you got it dude!" but I guess it is what it is. Obviously we're still going to be amped for the spinoff even without the inclusion of Michelle, but it's hard to think that such a central character won't even stop by to say "hey." For the sake of grief, let's all bond over our shared dismay over this news with some GIF-accompanied reactions.

Shock

No Michelle? Really? REALLY?!

If This Is A Joke...

...it's seriously not funny. Seriously guys, this isn't cool.

Two Words

This GIF says it all.

But...I Wanna Know How Michelle Turned Out

What is Michelle doing with her life? She was always so precocious during her time on Full House, so I can only imagine the successes she's had since, and the adventures she's embarked on. I guess the characters of Fuller House can update us via dinner conversation or something, but I'd rather hear it from Michelle herself. Duh.

Anger

I can't. Like, she's not going to be on the spinoff at all? Argh!

Are We Just Going To Pretend Like Michelle Didn't Exist?

There better be some serious Michelle mentions weaved into the Fuller House script if we're not going to get an actual appearance. Don't you miss your sister, D.J.? Don't you miss your sister?! And yes, I am aware right now that I am yelling at a fictional character, and it's probably time for me to reduce my caffeine intake for the day.

Maybe There's Still Hope

Depending on the success of the reboot, there's always a chance that more episodes could be dispensed and, thus, more opportunities for the producers and Olsen twins to reconsider a Michelle guest appearance. Life is full of possibilities, right?
