Your fantasy European aunt sure knows how to work a large piece of fabric. Isabella Rossellini wore a large pink shawl to the Cannes Film Festival— a shawl that upstaged everyone and everything in its immediate vicinity. Swaddling materials for the win!

Rossellini walked the red carpet during the Cannes 2015 premiere of Macbeth on Saturday afternoon in a classic black suit, looking every bit of the goddess that she is. There was a definite Chanel vibe happening with this whole look. The pearls are obviously very Coco, and the high-collared white shirt and cravat comes across as a Lagerfeld reference to me. There are so many subtly regal and offbeat things about her outfit, and we haven't even gotten to talk about that yard of shantung draped around her person. Your first reaction to the mega-scarf was likely — "Holy fabric!!" Alternatively, you may be thinking, "Where on Earth did she find those prom dress scraps?" However, Rossellini does what she wants and maintains her status as a queen. People who don't get her desire to be in a pink cocoon are small-minded mortals.

In your dream where the 62-year-old actress decides that she'll be adopting you as her ward, this is what she's wearing. Behold! The statement shawl to end all statement shawls...

One more for the road...

Shine on, you crazy diamond.
