PIerre Hardy & Matches Fashion Unveil Collab

by Eliza Florendo

If you're a shoe lover like myself and Carrie Bradshaw, you know that Pierre Hardy is a shoe legend. With roots in Dior, Hermès, and Balenciaga, he is no rookie to both luxury and footwear. Today marks another day in his shoe history: Pierre Hardy and Matches Fashion team up for a capsule collection.

Hardy, known for his structural shoes, metallic color schemes, and overall daring designs, created a capsule made for travel, including a tote, wash bag and pouch, and a hand-sewn espadrille. Tis the season for espadrilles after all, as the weather warms up, there's no better shoe to keep you comfortable and looking chic.

On the kit, you'll find Hardy's iconic blue and white print. All items are lined with a thin strip of white leather, adding a look of luxury, in true Hardy fashion. My favorite part of the espadrille is the white lace up ribbon, which adds a touch of femininity and elegance to an otherwise sporty shoe. Paired with a breezy dress or denim shorts, it's the perfect way to wrap up a summer look.

While the three items are a bit pricey, it's no doubt that they're an investment that will keep giving. The espadrilles sell for $405, while the tote and cosmetics case go for $960 and $362, respectively. I'm absolutely in love with the modern print that's subtle enough to match anything, yet has enough character to stand out. The tote seems especially useful, with a shoulder strap in addition to top handles, making it easy for traveling. Thank you, Pierre, for once again crafting a standout shoe.
