NPH Releases His First Fashion Line, Sort Of

by Christie Drozdowski

It makes sense that actor NPH would launch a fashion collection, but Neil Patrick Harris' collaboration with The Tie Bar is still making me swoon. In my mind, he finally became one with his always impeccably dressed How I Met Your Mother character (Barney Stinson, 4E) to garner all the inspiration needed for this collection. We're used to seeing the actor sport fine-looking ties and suits as Barney on the hit show, and it only comes as a surprise that the funny man hasn't already dabbled into the fashion world by this point.

But there's no more waiting, as the 41-year-old actor and comedian has curated a 20-piece collection of his favorite The Tie Bar pieces, in honor of Father's Day. Forty percent of the profits from this collection of socks, ties, and pocket squares will go to Harris' local art school, The Harlem School of the Arts in New York.

The actor — and father to twins Gideon and Harper — said of the collaboration:

"Seems a no brainer to me — solid choices, solid quality, solid charity. Win/win/win!"

He also explained that his collection with The Tie Bar would be perfect for Father's Day gifts, adding:

"Ties and accessories are ubiquitous Father's Day gifts, and The Tie Bar has great inventory. They asked me to select 20 pieces that are extra sartorial-icious."

Take a look at some of his picks in The Tie Bar's photo on Instagram.

Looks like he's gone for a combination of dark and bright hues and patterns, showing off some variety with a classic approach.

Maybe Harris will have enjoyed choosing his special collection of pieces so much that we'll see more of his sartorial-icious-ness, manifested, perhaps, in a full-on fashion collection. In the words of Barney Stinson, that would be "legen — wait for it — dary."
