Meghan Edmonds Is A Fantastic 'RHOC' Addition

The cast of The Real Housewives of Orange County has finally found balance after a few seasons where it felt way too big or filled with people who were way too boring. Surprisingly, Lizzie Rosvek made the cut for this coming year, despite coming across as far too normal to be a Housewife during Season 9. Also coming along is the beloved Shannon Beador, established 'wives Vicki, Tamra, and Heather, and a brand-new cast member: Meghan King Edmonds is joining Real Housewives Season 10. The casting choice is a great one: although Edmonds, the wife of professional baseball player Jim Edmonds, might seem like just your average Housewife, there are plenty of reasons to be excited for her addition to the cast.

First and foremost: this ensemble could desperately use some new blood. While Rosvek and Beador are great, I think Edmonds will catch on as a new fan favorite pretty quickly. There are plenty of reasons why she'll be easy to fall in love with, as it seems like she's a perfect mix of several Housewives who have recently departed from the show. Like Gretchen Rossi, for instance, Edmonds has a sense of humor that will hopefully come across in the confessionals. And as a young, new wife with blonde hair, she's also a bit like Alexis Bellino... even though Edmonds certainly seems like she's coming into this cast far more prepared to both dish and take conflict. Check out the Season 10 trailer for the show and see what I mean — the new cast member is already trading crazy eyes with none other than Vicki Gunvalson.

Here are six more reasons to get excited for her time on the series:

1. She Loves Her Family

Meghan is a stepmother to the four children of her new husband, and loves spending time with them.

2. She's Starting Her Own Business

Lest you think that Meghan just lounges around all day, she does have an Indigogo up for Sweat Cosmetics, a line of makeup designed for athletes and working out.

3. Her Husband Is Classic RHOC

Meghan's husband, baseball player Jim Edmonds, played for the St. Louis Cardinals and now works as a broadcaster in the same city. And for proud St. Louis native Andy Cohen, maybe that helped sell Meghan's casting for this season. Jim seems like he'll fit in with the other Real Husbands, thanks to everything from his lack of a wedding ring in the trailer to his dark tan.

4. She's A Proud Midwesterner

Edmonds has plenty of Midwest pride, and so she'll fit right in with this cast of transplants, most of whom aren't California natives. Currently, she splits her time between Missouri and Orange County, so hopefully there will be a cast trip to her second hometown.

5, She Has Many Different Looks

In the trailer alone, Meghan debuted a dozen original looks, each with different hair and a different facial expression to go with it. Versatility is important for a Housewife.

6. She's BFF With... Tamra?!

If a new girl gets Tamra Barney's seal of approval, then we know she's going to last, right? Getting on Tamra's good side is basically impossible, and usually backfires, so if Edmonds is crafty enough to befriend Orange County's prickliest member, then she must be someone to reckon with. No matter what happens, it will be exciting to see Meghan King Edmonds' debut on Real Housewives of Orange County Season 10.
