Proof That Kourtney Kardashian's Short Girl Style Is One All Vertically-Challenged Ladies Should Try
Being short stuff is tough! The only remedy is to own it and its hard to find someone who does it better than Kourtney Kardashian, the smallest of the Kardashian Klan. There are common misconceptions about being petite: that we can't wear certain styles of clothing, that we avoid wearing flats, and that we are insecure about trying out bold fashion trends. However, I don't think any of them are true at all. I stand at just five feet tall and I love my petite size, as well as being a fashion risk taker. As a result, I look up to short, chic celebs who are some of the most stylish fashionistas in Hollywood, from Lucy Hale to Emilia Clarke to Kourtney Kardashian, of course.
Kourtney's style has a great balance of ladylike classics and funkier LA-style pieces that make her wardrobe interesting. She is not afraid to play with prints, chunky shoes, extra tall shoes, long dresses, and assymetrical hems. This little fashionista is Fierce (with a capital F). The mother of three is definitely imparting her particularly fabulous style on her two-year-old daughter, Penelope. I mean, have you seen those adorable pictures of little Kourt and North West on their way to ballet class? So cute!
With that, here are 20 times Kourtney Kardashian proved to a true fashion role model for all us short girls out there.
1. When She Rocked Overalls & Flatforms
It can be hard to wear overalls when you're petite and not look like a 12 year old. Kourtney pairs her overalls with modern chunky flat forms.
2. When She Wore A Little Black Romper
Every shorty needs this in her closet. Rompers are typically shorter than dresses, so the likelihood that you would have to hem them is a lot less.
3. When She Wore Hot Pants & Platform Heels
This outfit is classy and adventurous. It is also makes her legs look super long. Work with what you've got, ladies!
4. When She Wore Knee High Gladiator Heels & Bermuda Boyfriend Shorts
I am not sure what kind of shorts those are but she is working them out. I would never think that kne- high gladiator heels would look good on a shorty, but this is a risk that definitely payed off for the tiny Kardashian.
5. When She Wore This Printed Romper
I can't stress this enough. If you are under 5'4", learn to love rompers.
6. When She Rocked Printed Shorts & Pointed Toe Pumps
Printed shorts are great way to keep things business casual. If you don't have a pair of pointy toe nude pumps in your closet right now, go get some. They do wonders for your legs.
7. When She Wore A High Low Skirt
If you are nervous about trying out longer hems lines on your short legs, definitely try a high low skirt. It looks amazing on Kourtney with her matching crop top.
8. When She Wore Plaid Skinny Pants
I need these pants. I must find a pair like this. I would wear them with the ankle strap heels as well. Such clever styling!
9. When She Rocked A Peter Pan Collared Sequin
This dress is just another great example of Kourtney's classic and super fun style. The peter pan collar makes the dress ladylike and the sequin keeps her from looking like a pilgrim or a private elementary school fourth grader.
10. When She Wasn't Afraid Of Printed Pants
Please don't be afraid to wear print on your short legs. Kourtney is proof of how fierce it could be.
11. When She Was Pretty In Pink
The color blush or nude pink makes everyone look taller, no matter your skin tone.
12. When She Wore A Lace Gown & A Moto Jacket
Feminine and tough. This look is everything!
13. When She Rocked A Polka Dot-Printed Midi Skirt
The polka dot midi skirt is so classic and ladylike but the chunky ankle strap heels and motorcycle jacket keep it trendy.
14. When She Wore Nude Ankle Strap Heels & Pastels
I can't stress enough how nude colored shoes are a short girl's best friend. They look best when paired with blush pink (see #11) or with any combination of pastels.
15. When She Wore A Canadian Tuxedo (Denim On Denim)
Monochromatic dressing is a great way to look taller and denim on denim is a great casual way to do it. Psst…look what color her shoes are.
16. When She Rocked Flare Jeans
Wider pants won't make you look short and wide. How incredible does she look in these? I might need a pair.
17. When She Did The Over-the-Knee Boots + Oversized Flannel Look
This outfit is so simple, comfortable, and a little daring at the same time. It's uh-mazing!
18. When She Did The All White Hot Pant Suit
Again, monochromatic dressing my little fashionistas. It doesn't matter the color (or lack there of), it matters that you make yourself feel when you're wearing it.
19. When She Wore Bows & Shift Dresses
Shift dresses, bow headbands, and nude pumps are probably my three favorite things in the world. If Kourtney had added a moto jacket to this, I would have died!
20. When She Wore A High-Waisted Circle Skirt
This outfit is perfectly ladylike and adorable. Plus, how cute are Kourtney and Scott?
