Carly Rae Jepsen's "Run Away With Me" Is EPIC

by Alex Kritselis

I know the word "epic" gets thrown around a lot these days (and I'm probably guilty of misusing it in the past), but I promise I'm not exaggerating when I say that Carly Rae Jepsen's new single, "Run Away With Me," is EPIC. In fact, it's beyond epic, it's... MAGNEPICENT (a combination of "magnificent" and epic I just made up). Stop what you're doing right now and put it in your ears. Trust me, you won't regret it. I have a feeling Jepsen's upcoming new album, EMOTION, is going to be incredible.

(A little over a week ago, a press release issued by Schoolboy Records/Interscope announced that "Run Away With Me" wouldn't premiere until July. However, a few days later, Jepsen sneakily debuted the track on the radio in Spain. What a trickster! Fortunately, a fan recorded it for the world to enjoy.)

You may get chills listening to "Run Away With Me" for the first time. It's the kind of song that makes you want to grab the person you love (or whomever's closest to you at that particular moment) by the hand and run down the street screaming about how wonderful and amazing life is. I know that sounds extreme, but you'll know exactly what I'm talking about once you hear it. On the massive chorus, Jepsen sings:

Baby, take me to the feeling

I'll be your sinner in secret

When the lights go out

Run away with me

Run away with me

Baby, every single minute

I'll be your hero, I'm winning

When the lights go out

Run away with me

Run away with me

Pretty magnepicent, eh? (Or perhaps I should say magJEPicent! OK, OK, I'm done.) Stay tuned for the track's official release date.
