Gigi Hadid Reveals Her Swimsuit Style Secret

by Marc Cuenco

Bathing suit season is just around the corner. For those who dread shopping for the perfect clothes to wear during the warm summer months, just know that at least one successful swimsuit model knows how you feel. According to an interview with Elle to promote her latest Seafolly swimsuit campaign, Gigi Hadid admits she hates trying on clothes, but instead makes mood boards to help her decide what to wear for any occasion.

"I was into storyboarding when I was younger," Hadid said. "I loved coming up with my own style through fashion blogs and magazines. But I've never liked trying things on." The 20-year-old Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue star also admitted that even though she grew up in a fashionable household (her mom Yolanda is a former model), she has never enjoyed shopping. "I've loved fashion my whole life, but more the imagery of it than actually wearing it," she added. "I think it's really important to find something you feel comfortable in and flatters your body for whatever body type you have.

As the face of Australian swimsuit brand Seafolly, an in-demand runway model, and one of the members of Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" squad, Hadid's hectic schedule doesn't leave her much time to focus on a healthy and well-balanced lifestyle. However, she tries to maintain a relatively normal life amidst her career and doesn't let the pressure on models to stay skinny change her attitude towards eating and staying in shape.

"I eat healthy when I can, I eat a burger when I want, and I work out," Hadid said. "You have to live with the routine that keeps your body the healthiest, and that's what I do — I don't change it for a swimsuit shoot. You have to figure out what works with your body the best." Preach, Gigi Hadid. Preach.
