5 Ways This Blogger Lookbook Is SO Body Positive

by Melodi Erdogan

It may only be the start of summer, but it's never too early to start planning for fall. And what better way to do it than with Unique Vintage's #IAmUnique blogger lookbook? I'll answer that for you: There is no better way. Because Unique Vintage's #IAmUnique campaign, which launched earlier this year, encourages all women to embrace their individuality and thus, feel confident in their own skin.

The fall lookbook not only promotes the brand's latest collection of beautiful dresses, but also showcases those pieces with the help of body positive fashion bloggers. As a whole, it's inspiring and drool-worthy all at the same time.

Bloggers like Kara Rexx, Jillian Mercado, Amina Mucciolo, Bustle's own Marie Southard Ospina, and other big names in the blogosphere dressed up in the brand's vintage-inspired designs for fall, ranging from a crimson swing dress to a floral button up flare one. Their photographs are juxtaposed with a quote directly from them that explains what makes them feel most unique.

To highlight Unique Vintage's latest lookbook and the brand's dedication to individuality and expression of self, here are just five ways Unique Vintage's blogger lookbook is so body positive. Because let me tell you: These women are beyond inspiring and the clothes are exceptionally beautiful. And if that's not a mouth-watering combination, I don't know what is.

1. The Inspiring Models

Each and every one of the eight women photographed has wise words and advice, all proving that being unique isn't about trying to be different, but loving yourself for who you are. Amina Mucciolo said it best in her sound off.

I am seriously jealous of Mucciolo's pastel unicorn mermaid hair and the way her Unique Vintage dress perfectly matches her dyed strands. But her message to embrace all our differences and embrace how they make us unique is eye opening. Also, I can't get over her beautiful hair. So we'll leave it at that.

2. It Celebrates Everyone's Unique Body Shape

It's safe to say that Unique Vintage aims to be all-inclusive, with a goal to celebrate each and everyone's individuality and one-of-a-kind pizazz. And having had that goal since the year 2000, when Unique Vintage was first founded, it seems like the brand has found major success doing just that.

And it doesn't just stop there. Its quality clothes with modern takes on vintage designs prove that classic, curve-hugging silhouettes never go out of style, as they can flaunt everyone's individual body and style — no matter what size or shape they might be.

3. There Are Swimsuits, Too

While the lookbook is mainly comprised of gorgeous dresses, there are two adorable swimsuits as well. Both are navy blue with white polka dots. There is a one-piece with a sweetheart neckline that is very adorable and rather pinup inspired, and the other is a two piece with high-waisted bottoms and a halter top, matching in the same polka dot print.

The lookbook may be for fall, but since the items are already available online, it must be time to finally treat yo self to a new swimsuit. Plus, if you're anything like me, your summer wardrobe basically only consists of dresses and swimsuits. Unique Vintage knows what's up.

4. Everyone Can Join In

Since Unique Vintage cleverly made its campaign into a hashtag, the brand invites anyone and everyone to join in. With accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, Unique Vintage isn't just stopping at the lookbook. The hashtag and the goal of the campaign are about reaching as many people as possible. That way, no matter what size or shape you are, or what style or type of clothes you wear, Unique Vintage will remind you to love yourself no matter what.

Just like blogger Kelly Anne says as a part of the lookbook, "It's about embracing who you are and really learning to love yourself."

5. It Encourages Individuality

#IAmUnique, you are unique, we are all unique. And it's clear that Unique Vintage wants that message to reach every one of their followers. But beautiful bloggers and pretty dresses aside, it's nice to know that there are clothing brands out there that aren't just thirsting for your dollars.

Unique Vintage is looking out for your best interest and providing you a product that isn't actually just a product, but also a reminder. A reminder that you should love yourself no matter what, societally perceived "flaws" and all. Because being comfortable and feeling confident in your own skin are far more important that any one piece of clothing.

But, well, the pretty clothes don't hurt.
