'Astronaut Wives' Wants Us To 'Ship Louise & Max

by Kelly Schremph

Anyone else starting to sense a budding romance here? During Thursday night's episode of The Astronaut Wives Club , “Retroattitude” hinted more than ever at the growing spark between Max Kaplan and Louise Shepard. All season long, I've sensed that these two cared more about each other than either of them was willing to admit, but I wasn't sure it would ever end up going anywhere other than friendship this early… until now that is. At the end of the episode, Max admitted to Louise that she hopes Alan gets sent on another mission next because that would mean he'd get to spend more time her. And while his confession definitely surprised her, she did not seem displeased by the revelation. So does this mean we'll have a Louise and Max hook up on our hands in the near future? My guess would be a resounding yes. And, you know what? Good for her.

Alan Shepard has thus far proven to be pretty much a big jerk ever since we first met him. He constantly cheats on his wife and doesn't even appear to feel guilty about it. Meanwhile, Max has treated Louise with nothing but complete and total respect, promising not to publish anything she doesn't want known. He's been around her enough to know that she hides the pain and sadness that she feels. It's because he cares and wants to be there for her in a way her husband never is. I mean, I'm not saying that cheating is right because it's not. But in this case, I think Louise deserves a chance to be selfish and be treated in a way that she deserves.

And don't let her guarded nature fool you. She's just as into him as he's into her, which was more than proven by how she reacted upon seeing another woman in his hotel room with him. She was clearly jealous and didn't like the idea of another woman holding his attention. It's just a question of how long it will take for her to finally act on her feelings toward him. But if I was a betting person, I'd say he'll be the one to make the first move. It's hard to say right now if it'll be just a fling or a 'ship built to last. One way or another though, this thing is totally happening and our nice guy reporter will be the one making headlines for a change.
