6 Reasons 'RHOA' Can Survive NeNe Leakes Leaving
It is with the utmost sadness that I say The Real Housewives of Atlanta without NeNe Leakes just won't be the same. Now that Leakes has quit the show and announced that she won’t be making any cameo appearances during Season 8, it's hard to imagine the series without her. However, regardless, I don't have any worries about the future of the show without her — because, even as a longtime fan of the show, I refuse to believe that Real Housewives of Atlanta won't survive without Leakes.
A key cast member she may have been, but the show will definitely survive without her. Not to dismiss her popularity, but there are plenty of other reasons to watch RHOA besides Leakes' participation — though the past seven seasons have seen Leakes ascend the reality TV rungs in Louboutins, other cast members are important to the show too. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, let’s not pretend like the other RHOA cast members haven’t also contributed to the show’s success. Personally, I’m no less excited for Season 8 of RHOA to premiere than I have been in the past. Trust me, guys, there’s plenty of proof that the show will be just fine without Leakes:
1. Leakes Wasn't Always The Ringleader
During the first season of RHOA , Leakes wasn't the ringleader that she's morphed into over time. If the show garnered enough initial interest from viewers without her antics, then surely it will stay afloat without them.
2. Cynthia Bailey Is More Outspoken
Ever since she set flames to her friend contract with Leakes, Bailey hasn't avoided stirring up trouble — which has made for some pretty juicy drama.
3. Kandi Burruss Can Hold Her Own
Keep in mind that Burruss is the only member of the RHOA cast to have three Bravo spinoffs. If she wasn't a key player in the show's success, then she definitely wouldn't have been afforded those opportunities.
4. Kenya Moore Is Sure to Keep Bringing The Drama
And the fabulous twirls.
5. Leakes' Absence Makes Room For New Housewives
Just because Leakes is no longer part of the line-up doesn't mean her replacement won't bring the same amount of drama.
6. The Other Housewives Will Have More Airtime
, "They always felt like I was the star, and they were never able to really shine with me there, so here’s their opportunity to shine." Hm, or maybe it's because Leakes' was too busy shading everyone that she didn't notice they were already shining? Just a thought.
While I'll miss Leakes, I have to say — I'm kind of excited to see RHOA without her. And for those of you worried about the future of the show, don't worry: It's going to be just find without her.Images: Giphy (6)
