Tilda Swinton Looks Like A Roman Goddess
Celebs flocked to Rome yesterday, and one star would've fit right in among statues of the gods. NYMag spotted Tilda Swinton at the Valentino couture show looking incredibly regal and statue-perfect. Appropriate, as Valentino's couture show yesterday heavily channeled Italy's ancient Roman roots.
Tilda Swinton is known for her striking, other-wordly appeal. The Scottish actress has transformed herself dozens of times for different roles, and always keeps her red carpet looks just as unique as her stunning features. But regardless of what she's wearing, it's Swinton's refreshing, natural beauty that keeps the world so intrigued.
Yesterday, the star chose a floor length ivory Valentino gown that was very nun meets chic couture and it definitely worked. The dress had a conservative neck and sleeves, and tucked in at her waist before fanning out beautifully. She paired the gown with dramatic black pumps, playing up a timeless color combination.
Makeup-wise, Swinton kept things light, clean, and bright. Her glowing, dewy complexion was accentuated with a pop of rich pink cheek color, as well as a neutral pink lip complementing her skin tone. The icon's stylish pixie was slicked back with a deep side part, adding a finishing touch to the ancient goddess vibes she was clearly giving off yesterday.
Look how the dress flows so heavenly on her! Ugh. love.
Swinton's been a serious carpet stunner over the past few years. Like, look at this dramatic metallic blue/black get up.
And who could forget her all white pantsuit Oscars ensemble?
Or when she looked like a dream in nude metallics.
And how about the time she was like, "Psh, yeah, rockstar."
Two words: That hair.
Enjoy Rome, bella Swinton!
