Under Armour's New Bras May Change Your Workout

by Amy Sciarretto

My cumulative experience with sports bras has never been all that great. I fall between a D and a DD. Sometimes, I need to wear not one, but two sports bras to provide the right amount of support. Running, jogging, and most vigorous athletic activities can be way, way difficult and intimidating when you are carrying around big boobs. Given this, I am very excited about Under Armour's new Armour Bra sports bra collection. It seems like the Baltimore activewear brand wants this range of bras to be pretty much the go-to for women of various shapes and sizes.

Personally speaking, there have been times where I ditched a gym date because I didn't want to deal with my boobs feeling sore and hot after bouncing around while working out. I told myself that my twice daily, 20-minute walks with my dog and my mini stair machine were good enough. But these Armour Bras just might convince me to do some fresh, new workouts.

First of all, the campaign sounds like it will be pretty rad, since it will feature female athletes like Lindsey Vonn, Misty Copeland, Kelley O'Hara, and Brianna Cope, according to Women's Wear Daily. Oh, and Gisele will also be a part of the campaign, because why not? It's essentially the second chapter of the company's positive "I Will What I Want" campaign.

The concrete details about the Armour Bra Collection will be revealed tomorrow at an event in Los Angeles — so there's no official images of the bras yet. But in the meantime, it's easy to dream about all the fun workouts I'll be getting in the new gear. Here are three reasons why I'm already stoked.

Oh, and if you need any outfit inspiration for when the images of the bras do come out, Under Armour's Instagram account has you covered.

1. Levels

The Amour Bra line will boast sports bras with high, mid, and low levels of support. That means it provides customized support for different levels of activity. It's nice to have choices. If the acton is low-impact, you don't need as much support. If it's high-impact, well, the more support, the better... because, duh. I like options.

2. Ladies

Under Armour really has established itself as a brand for those who lead active lifestyles. The company is making a commitment to women with this bra range. That's pretty awesome overall, since we want to be comfortable and stylish, as opposed to schlubby, when working out.

3. Lifestyle

As I stated earlier, sometimes I avoid certain types of physical activity because it's uncomfortable due to my breasts and their size. Knowing there are new options like these bras is encouraging and supportive, beyond keeping breasts high and tight.
