Rainn Wilson Will Narrate The New Dr. Seuss Audiobook For 'What Kind of Pet Should I Get?', And The Selection Could Not Be More Perfect
If you were wondering how the news of the discovery of a new book by the late Dr. Seuss could get any better, just wait: Rainn Wilson will be narrating Dr. Seuss’ new book W hat Kind of Pet Should I Get? . That’s right, Dwight Schrute. In the studio. Doing Dr. Seuss. You're welcome, world.
According to a press release from Penguin Random House Audio, sent to Bustle, the audio edition will be available on July 28, the same day the hardcover goes on sale. And what better way to get rid of your Harper Lee blues/withdrawal/high, than with a dose of quirky humor from two of the funniest? Susan Brandt, President at Dr. Seuss Enterprises, praised the perfect combination of Dr. Seuss’s work and Rainn Wilson’s narration, saying, “Ted’s work truly sings when read aloud and Rainn’s sense of humor and playful tone bring the story to life perfectly.”
You've got to admit the match makes sense. It's easy to imagine Dwight Schrute kicking back with a glass of beet juice and a Dr. Seuss book, right? And, apparently, Wilson himself is also a big fan of the "doctor."
He said, “It was an honor and privilege to help bring to life the words of perhaps my favorite author (and doctor) of all time, Dr. Seuss!” Wilson said in the press release.
And the good news just keeps coming. If you just can't get enough of that quirky Rainn Wilson voice, don't worry. This isn’t the first or last of Wilson’s audio work. He also narrated the audio edition of former The Office co-star BJ Novak’s memoir One More Thing , and he’ll be narrating the audio of his own memoir The Bassoon King , which comes out in October.
