Cara's 'Paper Towns' Stylist Dishes On Her Looks

by Marc Cuenco

Turning a self-confessed tomboy into a glamorous movie star might sound like a challenge, but not when the celebrity in question is Cara Delevigne. With the help of her stylists Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn, Delevigne's Paper Towns red carpet looks veered towards a "girly" aesthetic with lots of floral prints and tailored pieces. But the duo also kept the model-turned-actress' carefree and confident attitude in mind when choosing her outfits for the movie's whirlwind promotional tour.

"The idea was to have fun with the looks," Zangardi told Pret-a-Reporter. "[Delevigne] wanted to go in a more girly direction in general, so adding more interesting prints and bright colors was our way of bringing that objective to life without losing Cara's laid-back and offbeat personality."

For someone who once wore football shorts under her bridesmaid's dress, Delevigne's glam turn on the Paper Towns red carpet signaled a new chapter in her career. Even though she can rock any outfit, whether it's edgy or girly, it's still exciting to see the budding actress shake up her personal style, including the dazzling sequined Saint Laurent mini at the film's New York premiere.

"Because Cara is a bit of a style chameleon and easy to take in any direction, we've been able to experiment with different prints, and they all work effortlessly on her," Zangardi said.
