There’s a lunar eclipse happening on Aug. 27 PT / Aug. 28 ET, and it’s a doozy. Eclipses are already notorious for being intense, as they activate the destiny-aligning North and South Nodes, and have the power of numerous new or full moons packed into one lunation. But this week’s eclipse is particularly chaotic, as it’s squaring off with wild-child planet Uranus, shooting lightning bolts into the cosmic scene while catalyzing sudden changes and shocking twists.
With so many storylines converging and emotions running at 100, it’s no big surprise to see the Five Of Wands appear as our tarot card this week. This card is about conflict, and it’s visible in its imagery, as it shows five people tangled up together holding large wooden wands. They may be actively fighting, or they may just be jousting their wands in various directions and accidentally getting in each other’s way as they stubbornly continue — it’s up to your interpretations. Either way, the issue is that there are too many conflicting feelings, opinions, or large wooden wands in too small of a space, and it’s making it hard to get anything done or agreed upon.
When the Five Of Wands shows up, it’s a sign to prepare for some disagreements and clashes of will. There may be too many cooks in the kitchen, all feeling jazzed to be part of the action while subsequently making things more difficult. This could also manifest in a more inward-focused way, as conflicting viewpoints, feelings, and priorities of your own could cause internal confusion and make it difficult to decide what to do next.
So yes, you may have some full-blown eclipse arguments go down, or maybe you just stubbornly don’t want to step back to let someone else take the lead (and it’s likely everyone else involved in the matter feels similarly about surrendering their wand). But often, this card simply means there are many different takes on a single situation, or an excess of people — each with an equal amount of fire and passion behind them — are involved in something that can’t sustain so many strong wills. That many torches can easily explode into an oversized flame, so try to find ways to honor people’s wide-ranging desires, and know that there are many correct answers to most questions. You don’t have to be right about everything.
