When thinking about the ladies of Real Housewives, role model isn't exactly the term that would come to one's mind. However, I've got to personally admit that there are many ways that the Real Housewives cast members have influenced me in a good way. Seriously.
Now don't get me wrong, there are many moments that leave something to be desired when it comes to the women of the popular Bravo reality franchise. The drama is non-stop, after all. But, if you put those things aside for just a moment, you'll find that there are actually quite a few positive things that we can take away from some of these hardworking women.
In all fairness, I've got to admit that as a viewer I don't always allow the ladies a fair shake. I mean, I'd have to imagine that the pressure of appearing in front of reality television cameras will eventually bring out the worst in even the most docile human being at one point or another. Not to mention that dealing with the day in and day out antics of other people in the cast has to get exhausting and would eventually rub off on anyone, perhaps, in a negative way, after an extended period of time... right?
Make no mistake about it, though, there are some very real things to be admired about reality TV's most popular players:
1. Undeniable Sex Appeal
Whether married, divorced or single, there's definitely no denying that these ladies know how to keep themselves looking good – seemingly every minute of every day. These women really know how to keep it hot and sexy all of the time. They are for real #LifeGoals.
2. Work Ethic
One thing you can never deny is that these women know how to work hard for their money. On the surface, it may sometimes appear that these women were born or married into the lap of luxury, but the truth is that a lot of them are actually the breadwinners in their households and work hard for a living.
3. Throwing Shade
While it may not always be a nice quality, these women surely know how to hold their own when it comes to a war of words. Watching them unleash their inner beasts on anyone who they feel deserves it, has certainly taught me how to stand up for myself when necessary.
4. Chasing Dreams
When society gets in the way of my aspirations, these ladies often show me that anything is possible when it comes to chasing a dream. I mean, I've literally watched them launch singing careers, workout videos, clothing lines and acting careers — all with no experience or background on the subject, whatsoever. Thanks to these women, I now know that I can do anything that I put my mind to.
5. Unforgettable Catchphrases
The Real Housewives have certainly blessed all of America with some of the most hashtag-worthy sayings that I, for one, will never, ever forget. And for that, my friends, I am eternally grateful.
6. Squad Goals
Okay, I'll admit that the friendships between these ladies seem to break up and make up more than they change their underwear. However, if you take a moment to look past all of the drama, there are actually quite a few #SquadGoals to be admired on the franchise.
7. Hunky Husbands
The women of Real Housewives don't always have husbands, but when they do... they're almost always handsome – and wealthy. Keep the eye candy coming, ladies. I'm totally here for it.
8. Lavish Dinner Parties
Watching RH always makes me want to have an amazing dinner party and invite all of my friends and frenemies over for a seat at the table. The on-screen gatherings just always look like so much fun — even if the table gets flipped over every once in a while.
9. Dream Homes
Sure, some of their houses may have taken longer than expected to construct, but, they are still fab nonetheless. It always brings me great joy to see the insides of the Real Housewives' "humble" abodes.
10. Hot Hair
There's no doubt that all of these women are beautiful in their own right. And with the added glam that comes along with starring on reality TV, some of these ladies often leave me with major hair envy. Like, seriously, they even manage to look good when their out in the wilderness "glamping." It's so not fair.
11. Money In The Bank
Husband or no husband, these women certainly seem to know how to keep a paycheck rolling in and money in the bank. And in my opinion, that is the greatest influence of all — cha-ching!
So, you see, the Real Housewives are not all about negativity and drama, after all. There are actually a lot of great things to be learned from these powerful women.
