Halloween Costume Tutorials That Are Way Simpler To Pull Off Than They Look

by Kaitlyn Wylde

No matter what time of year it is, I'm always on the hunt for a good tutorial. In the summer, you'll find my web history littered with "no make-up summer make-up look" tutorials, and in the fall, you better believe it's filled with searches for the best Halloween costume idea tutorials on the internet. And I know I'm not the only one who loves to pick a super complicated look and follow a step-by-step tutorial that teaches you how to pull of a look you never thought in a million years that you could handle. Tutorials are popular for a reason — they're both memorizing and educational, and they look super, ridiculously cool.

This is especially true when it comes to Halloween. A costume or look can be completely overwhelming if you don't have a guide that really works with you through each step and helps you figure it out easily. And thanks to YouTube, we have access to visual guides that inspire us to attempt even the most intricate of looks. These people make it look so easy!

There are so many characters that I'd love to dress up as for Halloween in the past, but would never even bother to attempt because of how hard they look to accomplish. But this year I've got the courage and encouragement I need to try something a little bit difficult — thanks to a collection of tutorials I've put together, of course. Here are some of my favorites to help you get through the Halloween season, most elaborately:

Check out the entire 'What's Up, Boo?' series and other videos on Facebook and the Bustle app across Apple TV, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV.

Scars

If you're not exactly sure what you want to be, but you'd like to have some gruesome scars, this tutorial is for you. You can add as many as you like or use it to make any existing costume just a bit more grim.

Snapchat Filters

2016 Snapchat filters are basically already retro relics now and are perfect for Halloween this year. Plus, as long as you have the make-up down, you can wear whatever you want.

Ariel

Go all out, get the tail, get the red wig and go for this complete Little Mermaid look.

Elsa

I mean, everyone still loves Frozen right? You can't really go wrong with everyone's favorite ice princess.

Corpse Bride

This look is adorable, creepy, and looks exactly like the real character. If you're not scared of some serious face (and body) paint, this look is for you.

Demon

I've always been to scared to attempt such a scary look, but this tutorial is totally fascinating and makes me really want to at least try!

Headless

This tutorial literally blows my mind. This YouTuber makes it look really easy — and while I'm sure it's a lot harder than it looks, I'm semi-confident it's doable!

Pop Art

This fun look can be totally customizable. Learn the technique and then play with the colors and expressions.

Double Vision

OK, I'm pretty sure you have to have some artistic ability to accomplish this look, but if done correctly, it creates a wildly impressive optical illusion.

Harley Quinn From Suicide Squad

This costume is super fun and colorful. Plus, it's not nearly as difficult as some of the other tutorials out there.

Daenerys From Game Of Thrones

In honor of the end of season seven of Game of Thrones, dress up like Khaleesi to help tide you over until season eight — we've got a long time to wait and this costume is totally doable and epically beautiful.

Skull

If you're looking for a skull look but are interested in more of an artsy look than a scary look, this tutorial is for you.
