9 Things Millennials' Kids Will Be Better Than Millennials At Understanding

I have no idea what the technology of the future will bring, but I do know that I'm not ready for it. Like, not at all. I'm someone who has a meltdown when my phone gets updated— which my friend has to do for me, because I still don't understand how. And just like our parents don't really understand the technology of today — though I have to admit, my mom's emoji game is stellar — it's weird to think that in the future there will be technologies that are totally normal to our children but baffling to us. We'll be the ones muttering about "kids today and their high-tech nonsense," but what will that high-tech nonsense actually be?

Well, the people of Reddit decided to share their theories on what would be coming our way in terms of emerging technology. And, I have to say, it doesn't paint a very optimistic picture. Although some of the tech sounds really cool, some of the theories are basically that we'll all be half-robot — and that is something I just can't wrap my head around.

So here are the technologies people think will get the best of us in the future, when we'll be twiddling our thumbs while our kids jump around on their damn hover boards and the like.

1

This Nonsense

Never. Never ever ever.

2

This Hard Truth

Yikes.

3

Wireless Headphones

... I still can't use them, to be honest.

4

Is This A Thing?

I'm not sure I'm ready for the hover.

5

Nope

Everyone will be able to do this in the future. Everyone except me.

6

Proper Globalization

It's coming, folks.

7

Poly Marriages

Live and let love.

8

Artificial Eyes

Anything but the eyes.

9

New Age Fuel That Means You Don't Have To Eat

OK, this one is mine. And it's my nightmare. Please don't ever let it happen.

I'm sure this is only a tiny fraction of what the future will really bring — and I'm terrified to see what happens. I'll stick with my iPhone 5 and my bready bread bread forever, thanks.
