A lot came out of the Cannes Film Festival this year — some great films, some badass fashion, and some photos of Bella Thorne and Scott Disick, ahem, canoodling. "What the hell?!" the world asked about whatever was going on between 19-year-old Thorne and 34-year-old Disick. Those who were curious didn't have to wait long for an answer, though, because Thorne spoke out very candidly not long after on both Twitter and in an interview in which she implied the two were no more than party friends. So, what's up with the fact that she and Disick were spotted leaving Lana del Rey's birthday party on Thursday night holding hands?

Whatever the story, it'll probably come out soon from Thorne herself, because she's been very open so far about her relationship with Disick and is all about using her social media to set her own story straight. Good on her for that. And who knows, maybe they were just holding hands as buddies.Bustle has reached out to reps for Thorne and Disick for comment, but did not receive a response at the time of publication.

Thorne notoriously loves Snapchat, and also snapped a bunch of photos and videos from del Rey's party herself. In one video she's with a guy friend, who gives her a kiss on the cheek and says, "I'll give you a kiss on the cheek 'cause f*ck it. Hope Scott doesn't kill me." Why would Disick be jealous if Thorne is just a friend? But then again, it's possible that she was fine with just playing into the rumors.

In the photos of the two leaving del Rey's party at 1Oak it looks like they definitely had had a good time. As for whatever's going on post-bash, that's for Thorne and Disick to say. And judging by her interview with Complex U.K., it wouldn't be a surprise if Thorne is open about it.

Thorne told the publication earlier in June, "Scott is really nice, sweet, charming," she said. "I don't drink, and he really drinks a lot. And it just ended up... I wasn't down. I was like, 'I gotta leave.'" Thorne went on to say, "I love to go out and have fun, I love to f*cking dance, but I just don’t party hardcore like that and it was way too much for me. I was like, ‘Woah, this is not the way I live my life, bruh.’”

Thorne also said she tries to use her social media to be transparent and control her own story, even when people around her advise her not to address tabloid rumors. "I try to use [social media] to speak up because it just genuinely irks me," she said. "I’m just like, ‘I can’t believe I’m reading this right now, like this is absurd. You sketchy-ass b*tches. Where’d you hear that?"

It probably won't be long until she sets the record straight on whatever was going on with her and Disick on Thursday night. She did the same thing on social media after the Cannes photos were released, tweeting that she wasn't "talking to" Disick or anyone else, so try to withhold judgments. Thorne seems pretty self possessed, and it's a good bet she'll be speaking out social media again soon.
