Contact Senators Who Voted for Anti-ACA Tom Price
Just as they have with each of Donald Trump's other Cabinet nominees so far, on Friday morning, the Senate voted to confirm Tom Price as secretary for health and human services. The Senate voted along party lines to confirm Price, with 52 Republicans voting "yes" and 45 Democrats voting "no." In addition, the two Independents in the Senate, Bernie Sanders and Angus King, both voted "no."
Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., was unable to attend the vote because her husband was having heart surgery, but she indicated on Twitter that she would have voted against Price, as well. However, with a final tally of 52-47, McCaskill's vote would not have altered the results.
By voting for Price, who previously served as a congressman representing Georgia's sixth district, the Republicans in the Senate have enabled him to pursue his preferred policies within the department. Among these policies are the abolition of the Affordable Care Act (also known as Obamacare). It is no secret that Price has long wanted to cut Obamacare, and he submitted legislation to repeal and replace it in 2015.
If Price has his way, many of the protections Americans have grown accustomed to under Obamacare — people with preexisting conditions not being denied or charge more for insurance and free coverage of birth control — may go out the window. Price may not be all that concerned about the latter issue; he infamously told ThinkProgress that "not one" American woman struggles to afford birth control.
Price is also staunchly anti-choice. He has sponsored bills that would declare zygotes to legally be people, which would effectively prohibit both abortion and the morning-after pill. He also believes that employers should be allowed to fire women for being on birth control or having an abortion and that Planned Parenthood should be completely defunded.
If your senator voted to confirm Secretary Price, he or she should know how you feel about the major policy goals that Price is likely to push.
If you support the Affordable Care Act, rely on Planned Parenthood, or simply believe that women shouldn't be fireable simply for exercising their right to avoid unplanned pregnancy, scroll down to find contact information for senators who voted in support of Price, listed by state.

While senators cannot revoke their vote for Secretary Price, who has already been confirmed, hearing from constituents helps underscore the point that millions of Americans depend on the policies Price hopes to eliminate.
