How Is The ColourPop Blotted Lip Formula Different From The Brand's Other Lipsticks? Here Is The 411
In case you haven't heard, ColourPop has got yet another collaboration coming out. This time, the project is with model and fashion it-girl, Alexis Ren, and it's totally gorgeous, obviously. The brand churns out new collections faster than I can keep up with, and they are all equally amazing, but this particular line has got something unique, and it's called the Blotted Lip. You may now be wondering — how is the ColourPop Blotted Lip formula different than all of their other lip products? Here is what you need to know.
"Blotted Lip" is a brand new lip formula that is unlike anything the company has ever done before. Rather than a super matte consistency that stays put for days, or a high shine that comes with a gloss or a metallic lippie, Blotted Lip is sort of somewhere in the middle.
According to a press release, the new formulation is a sheer matte lipstick that diffuses color into the lips like a lip stain, but in very natural-looking way. It's basically meant to make you look like you're not actually wearing makeup. Additionally, you can layer as much of the product as you'd like based on how sheer or pigmented you want the look.
The tinted lippie comes in three super wearable shades: Exotic, a blood orange hue, Déjà Vu, a rosy nude, and Lexi, a cranberry red color.
Most of ColourPop's other lipsticks are either intensely matte, super creamy, or glossy with lots of pigments. Blotted Line caters to those who prefer a more subdued look with plenty of variability to play with.
These swatches show a side-by-side view of the Blotted Line lippies and the collection's Ultra Matte Lip shades, which is ColourPop's more signature matte formula. See the difference?
The collab is set to launch on Feb. 3, and I know I'll be counting down the days!
