Urban Decay x Jean-Michel Basquiat Is Affordable

by Kali Borovic

If you're feeling a little worn-out from the usual YouTuber collabs, then this is the makeup buy for you. According to their social media announcement, Urban Decay created a beauty collection in Jean-Michel Basquiat's honor. This is one nontraditional makeup selection that you're guaranteed to love. How much is Urban Decay x Jean-Michel Basquiat, you ask? Breathe easy, because this is one work of art that you can actually afford.

While some brands are focused on peachy shades and new highlighters, Urban Decay is doing things a little differently. They've created an entire makeup collection based on Jean-Michel Basquiat's artwork. Think everything from printed makeup bags to eyeshadow palettes. Sadly, this artist passed away in 1988, but his work is being brought back to life though the eight art-inspired products.

The best part is that you can actually afford every single item. The makeup bags range from $18 to $30, while the lipsticks and liners are in the $20 range. The most expensive items are the two eyeshadow palettes, which are $39 each. Considering that you're getting way more than just makeup, I'd say this is a pretty great deal. You're also able to buy the entire collection in bulk. The UD Jean-Michel Basquiat Vault has every single item and costs $165.

Don't get too excited just yet though. According to the Urban Decay website, the Urban Decay x Jena-Michel Basquiat Collection doesn't launch until April 20. And when it does, it will be a "SERIOUSLY limited edition," according to Urban Decay's Instagram post. Unlike other LE collections that keep making surprise comebacks, it doesn't sound like you'll see these products again.

IMO, this is the best kind of collab. Instead of just getting great products by people that you know and love, you get a collectable as well. With every name of the product and every image straight from the work of Jean-Michel Basquiat, this collection is well worth the price.

Mark those calendars and get those wallets read, because something tells me that this collection won't be around for long. April 20 can't come soon enough!
