How To Make Your Own Girl Scout Cookies At Home

by Kaitlyn Wylde

It's Girl Scout Cookie season and while I'm mostly focused on my excitement for the occasion, I'm distracted, because I honestly cannot believe it hasn't been made a national holiday yet. I mean, if beans and sponges can have their own holiday, arguably the best cookies in the world should have their own holiday, too. Amirite? But I'll save my pleas for another time, because right now I'm here to blow your mind with some drool-worthy news: you can make your own Girl Scout Cookies at home.

Sure, they might not taste exactly the same as they do when you get them in those tall colorful boxes and sure, you're not exactly supporting the Girl Scouts if you make your own — but there are way too many months out of the year that cookie sales are scarce. And so for these months, the ability to make your own cookies from your kitchen will be a huge sweet-tooth saver.

And the best part is, these recipes are not overly complicated so even the novice baker can follow the directions and make magic happen. Here are a few of my favorite Girl Scout cookies recipes broken down by my favorite food bloggers:

Tagalong Cookie Bars

Averie Bakes

This soft and chewy blend of shortbread, peanut butter and chocolate will hit any sweet spot. Check out the recipe on Averie Bakes.

Samoas Cookie Pie

Averie Bakes

Because why make little cookies when you can make one large pie and decide how big your serving should be? Check out this recipe on Averie Bakes and up your Samoas intake.

Thin Mints

A Cozy Kitchen

Personally, my favorite Girl Scout cookie on the menu, this recipe by A Cozy Kitchen is spot on. You'll like it better than the real thing.

Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookie

Brown Eyed Baker

These old school classics taste even better when they're fresh out of the oven and filled with some real, hearty peanut butter. Check out the recipe on Brown Eyed Baker.

S'mores Cookies

Confessions Of A Cookbook Queen

Who can resist the combination of chocolate, graham cracker and marshmallow? The answer is: no one. Check out this recipe by Confessions of a Cookbook Queen.

Lemonade Cookies

Confessions Of A Cookbook Queen

This recipe on Confessions of a Cookbook Queen is pretty close to the OG Lemonade cookies, but to be honest, it's a bit elevated — you're going to like it much better than the real thing.

Peanut Butter Patty

Averie Cooks

These chocolate-covered peanut butter patties are the perfect midnight snack. Check out the recipe on Averie Cooks, sprinkles optional.

Shortbread Cookie

Brown Eyed Baker

This alfajore recipe by Brown Eyed Baker is a bit more fancy and worldly than the traditional shortbread cookie, but it'll hit the spot.
