Huda Beauty's New Highlighter Palette Was Designed For Women Of Color & It's About Damn Time

by Shea Simmons

Huda Beauty is on a roll with their new product launches. The cosmetics brand has been releasing incredible products as of late. From the Desert Dusk eyeshadow palette to their thirty shades of Faux Filter Foundation, they seem to always be making major moves. Now, Huda Beauty's Bronze Sands highlighter palette is on its way — and it was designed specifically for women of color. Because it's about damn time.

On Jan. 16, Huda Beauty founder, Huda Kattan, took to her Snapchat to showcase the brand new palette with four different highlighting shades. The pans featured stunning golden, bronze, and rose gold colors perfect for those with darker and deeper skin tones. In fact, Kattan said in her Snapchat video that the palette was created for these skin tones and those with more fair skin would probably not be able to use them. Honestly, it's about time.

Products seem to be created regularly for fair to medium skin tones — just look at Tarte's new Shape Tape foundation and the outcry surrounding it — but deeper tones appear to get overlooked. Huda Beauty is clearly trying to help remedy that issue with this new palette, and the result is a stunning collection of hues.

After announcing on her Snapchat, Kattan went on to apply the gorgeous highlighters to models, and let's just say these beauties are going to be the new must-have if bronze hues are your go-to choice for highlighting.

YouTube account Beauty Snapz captured Kattan's models on her Snapchat and thankfully, uploaded them to the social media channel. It's the perfect way to see the shades in action.

The shades are designed to work together in Huda Beauty's signature four step system, but she has said that you don't need to follow these rules to wear the product.

As for when you'll be able to get the palette, there's been no announcement from Kattan or Huda Beauty. However, the palette appears to be completely finished and in the brand's signature packaging. Surely this means that the product is well on its way to a release. Plus, it's basically perfect spring and summer, so it's probably safe to assume a launch date before that time.

How do fans feel about the new Bronze Sands highlighting palette? They're stoked for it.

The palette isn't even up for grabs yet, and fans are in love.

Others are so impressed by the pigment.

Huda Beauty fans are so happy Kattan took women of deep and dark skin tones into consideration when creating her new palette.

The swatches just added an extra layer of excellence to this sneak preview.

This is Kattan's second launch specifically with deeper skin tones in mind (her first being her foundation), and fans love it.

If you're curious about price, again, there has been no announcement. However, the palette is exactly like her other 3D products, and it wouldn't make a ton of sense for the brand to switch up the cost. With the other palettes retailing for $45, this one will more than likely go for that price as well.

If you want to purchase Huda Beauty's new Bronze Sands 3D Highlighter Palette, keep your eyes peeled to Kattan's Snapchat and the brand's social media pages. Considering that the palette looks totally completed, a launch announcement is sure to be coming soon.

With shades formulated specifically for tan and deep skin tones, it's a great step toward inclusivity by a brand. With other companies under fire for their lack of inclusivity, Huda Beauty's decision to launch these highlighters is a welcome change.
