They say it's better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all, so is Robby Hayes single? The Bachelor In Paradise contestant was dating fellow contestant and mother of two Amanda Stanton before the pair split, a break-up that was confirmed by Amanda on Sept. 6. That might be all the indication that we need that Robby is currently, but let's rewind a little.

Radio station Z108 tweeted a photo of the pair strolling arm in arm together back in the US in July, while TMZ implied Amanda and Robby were a couple when they claimed the pair were "a thing." Which made sense; the reported couple had both weathered their share of storms on the dating reality TV show. According to TMZ, Amanda first appeared in Season 20 of The Bachelor to compete for Ben Higgins' heart. She then got engaged to Josh Murray during the finale of Season 3 of Bachelor In Paradise before breaking it off officially in January 2017. A while later, she returned to Bachelor In Paradise for one more crack at finding love.

Robby's TV dating life was even more dramatic, with him trying to propose to JoJo Fletcher on Season 12 of The Bachelorette and JoJo telling him she would not "let you get down on one knee," insisting: "I can't let you do that because I don't want to take that moment from you." Ultimately, she opted for his rival, Jordan Rodgers, instead.

Sources told US Weekly that Amanda and Robby had got together while Season 4 Bachelor in Paradise was filmed in Mexico, but it's easy to stay happily loved up in paradise, right? Returning home seemed a little tougher for the couple, with Amanda confirming that they had broken up when asked at the End-of-Summer Bachelor Party. She also spoke to E! Online to explained the backstory behind the rumors that her new boyfriend had kissed another woman at a Zac Brown Band concert. (Robby responded by saying he had no comment at the time, but would have something to say about the rumors "soon.")

She told E! Online on Sept. 7 that he had been out in Colorado and was supposed to return home to her that night "but he had missed his flight and his phone died and I didn't hear from him for a whole day." He called her the next day and explained his phone had run out of battery, but, later, a girl "said he was at a Zac Brown Band concert and sent me photos of him looking like they were making out all over each other."

But she was quick to stress the ambiguity of the situation, explaining that Robby denied the claims and emphasizing that, since she wasn't there, she can't confirm or deny either way: "He says that they were not. I wasn't there. So, I don't know. I can't tell you." Whatever the truth, the split seemed about more than rumor when the 27-year-old spoke to Glamour.

In Amanda's interview about giving up on the Bachelor franchise for good, she seemed to imply she couldn't see a future with Robby from relatively early on, explaining how while she had introduced her daughters to her ex-fiancee Josh, she hadn't with Robby, since she needed him to be ready, and "the more I talked to Robby and the more we hung out, the less and less I could see that happening."

Given that the Glamour interview was only published days before this article, we can probably assume that Robby is still single. Much like that saying about us leaving the world as we came into it, naked, alone, so too for Bachelor In Paradise contestants: sometimes they leave the show as single and ready to mingle as they started on it.
