On a Saturday afternoon in May, I pulled up to the Monaco Mansion in Orange County, CA and found myself in awe not only of the incredible house, but its gorgeous scenery filled with beautiful, confident women. Torrid was hosting its second annual pool party, with special guest host Nicole Byer, the famous comedian and actress from Girl Code. Together, they were celebrating the launch of Torrid's latest swimwear collection, as well as empowering women to love their bodies with their latest campaign, #TheseCurves.
"To me, #TheseCurves means a celebration of women who are beautiful [and] who are bold... every woman has curves," Byer tells me at the party. Byer was dressed in a cute turquoise and pink swimsuit with a stylish lacy black cover up. While the weather was a bit overcast (with a sprinkle or two), it did not stop the attendees from rocking their fly swimsuits and taking a dip in the pool and jacuzzi. From influencers to actresses, everyone looked like they were having fun and feeling extra confident in their swimwear.
The brand's latest swimwear collection is, in one word, sexy. From high-waisted bikinis and longline bra tops to playful (and completely on-trend) one-pieces, there's a swimsuit style for anyone's preference, not to mention adorable prints, such as lemon prints and stripes, galore.
"For the plus size women who are thinking about stepping out and showing their bodies, just do it. You're going to have fun, you're going to feel free, and you're going to learn to love yourself," says guest Jacquelin Melina Campos. "It's power," says Byer. "If someone is going to say something to you, you stopped somebody. That's power."
Are these suits hot or what?
Rain or shine, no one could stop these ladies from having a blast at Torrid's second annual pool party.
