If your significant other doesn't laugh at your jokes, who will? On Friday, Sarah Hyland said boyfriend Wells Adams finds her funny, even when she isn't sure anybody else will. Hyland and the former Bachelorette contestant went public with their relationship in early November, and it looks like she can't stop talking about her new boyfriend. While backstage at the 102.7 KIIS FM Jingle Ball in Los Angeles, the Modern Family star talked about trying to be funny off-screen with People Magazine. "I don’t know. I’m just, I think I’m hysterical when I’m really not," she told the publication. “I’ll be like, ‘This is an amazing bit that I have to put on my Instagram Story.’ But the thing about Instagram Story is you don’t get responses, so I don’t know if people actually like them or not!”

Fortunately, Adams is always on hand to confirm. "I think the only person who actually somewhat finds me funny is my boyfriend,” Hyland continued in the interview. “Thank God!” The dating rumors began around Halloween, when the two dressed in matching Stranger Things costumes. Adams dressed as Eleven, wearing the character's pink dress and clutching her signature Eggo waffles, while Highland was a convincing Mike. The two characters have a crush on each other in the show, and the Hyland captioned the photo "#strangerthings have happened #happyhalloween."

While the couple seemed comfortable together in their funny Halloween pics, their romance wasn't confirmed until early November. Long before the two began dating, Hyland was open about her crush on Adams on Twitter when he first appeared on JoJo Fletcher's season ofThe Bachelorette. The radio DJ returned to the franchise for the fourth season of Bachelor on Paradise, and it was during this season that the two first exchanged flirty tweets. It all started when Hyland tweeted about Adams appearance as the bartender on the show, writing: "OH MY GOD @WellsAdams IS THE FRIKKIN BARTENDER?! Best. Season. Ever. #BachelorInParadise."

Hyland might not have been expecting to get an immediate response from the BiP star, but he immediately joked that she could join him as a bar back on the next season. That is, only if Phil Dunphy approves. Adams wrote back: "Taking applications for #BIP5 bar backs now. Please send references..Preferably from Phil Dunphy. I'm kidding the job is yours."

The two went on to meet IRL, and they were reportedly seeing each other for several months, according to E! News, before they were first linked around Halloween. It's clear from their first exchange online that they share a similar sense of humor, and an anonymous source told to E! News that jokes are reportedly a big part of their relationship. "Wells likes that she is goofy like him, and they are always cracking jokes together," the source told the publication. "It's cute."

The couple have been happy together since, and it seems their relationship might be getting serious. In November, Adams planned a week-long celebration for Hyland's 27th birthday that included a trip to Disneyland and a helicopter ride to Catalina island. The Disney trip included shenanigans with all of Hyland's friends, as well as a romantic dinner at the park's exclusive 33 Club. The Modern Family star shared a picture of the evening to Instagram, and wrote: "This one. @wellsadams took my birthday and made it in to an entire week celebration. No one makes me feel as special as you do. Hey... You're my favorite thing (also. These Club 33 pictures were WAY too good not to post soooo #sorrynotsorry)"

While the couple posed for several real photos, she also included a couple pics where they are making funny faces. Posting silly pictures together is pretty common for the couple, and on Thanksgiving the former-Bachelor contestant tweeted out a snap of them munching pizza at a Lakers game. He wrote: "Really thankful that this picture exists in the world. #HappyThanksgiving2017" and tagged Hyland in the Tweet.

These two might get silly in photo ops, but their relationship is reportedly getting more serious. In Us Weekly, an anonymous source said that the couple are taking things to the next step. “They have been dating a while now,” the source told the site about the couple. “It is getting more serious as time passes. They really like each other." Hyland and Adams, who haven't shied away from the public eye, do seem to be pretty crazy about each other.

While Bachelor nation is in full support of this couple, other stars from the series have offered their blessing as well. Danielle Maltby is a longtime friend of Adams and shared a kiss with him on Bachelor in Paradise. While some fans on Instagram were disappointed that Maltby and Adams didn't end up together, she shut that down in an Instagram comment. "Are you kidding me? I ship this couple SO hard!" Maltby wrote on Hyland's Instagram, according to E! News. "I've never seen Wells so giddy and happy! Try spreading some love instead of knocking down one of the cutest and most genuine coupling I've seen in a long time."

Ashley Iaconetti, another former contestant and the host of the Almost Famous podcast, told Us Weekly that she liked how genuine their relationship is. "I think they are really public about it. I’m surprised about that,” she told the publication at the Justice League premiere. “But I’ve known it’s been going on for a while and I think they both really like each other so that’s cool.”

Modern Family has received more awards than any sitcom in recent history, but it's clear that when she's not on set, Hyland gets to make her boyfriend laugh most of all. It seems from all their goofy photos that this social media power couple share a sense of humor, and hopefully Adams makes her laugh as well. If that's true, this unexpected (but adorable) couple should be together a long time.
