Met Gala time is upon us once more, which means fans can look forward to celebs showing off their on-theme outfits for this year's Rei Kawakubo x Comme des Garçons gala. And Game of Thrones darling Sophie Turner's 2017 Met Gala outfit was an eye-catching, delicate looking dress, with a distressed pattern hearkening back to the early days of Comme des Garçons.

Turner has already made her mark on the 2017 red carpets with an artistic black-and-white dress at the Golden Globes and a classic-yet-whimsically-asymmetrical red dress for the SAG Awards. With a Rei Kawakubo x Comme des Garçons theme, Turner had plenty of fashion inspiration to inspire her look.

According to Vogue, the 2017 Gala marks the first to feature a living designer since 1983's Yves Saint Laurent exhibit. Kawakubo, Comme des Garçons' founder, is "one of the most important and influential designers of the past forty years," Andrew Bolton, curator in charge of the Costume Institute, told Vogue. “By inviting us to rethink fashion as a site of constant creation, recreation, and hybridity, she has defined the aesthetics of our time.”

There was definitely plenty of creation and recreation at this year's Gala, and Turner's ensemble was, as the internet says, "a Look." Check out her 2017 Met Gala dress below.

This Louis Vuitton look is classically Turner — elegant, chic, and a little whimsical.
