BITE's Edgy Neutrals Lippies Are Hardly Basic

Edgy neutrals? To some makeup junkies, that description might seem like a contradiction, since neutrals, while pretty, can be safe and somewhat basic. They aren't bold or audacious. Or are they? Well, BITE Beauty's new Edgy Neutrals Amuse Bouche lipstick collection is certainly working diligently to change the notion that neutrals are boring! Any makeup wearer can take neutrals up a notch, depending on how and with what they wear them. But the BITE Beauty Edgy Neutrals lippies, which include limited edition hues, come in eight shades in the satin finish, and are available at, look like they were designed to enhance and support a super glam, heavily smoky eye, from black to gray to plum to brown to bronze to sunset.

Good makeup is about balancing features while playing them up. To my eyes, the Edgy Neutrals Amuse Bouche lippies will balance out super dramatic looks. The collection boasts four limited edition shades — dubbed Enoki, Cremini, Porcini, and Portobello — as well as fan favorite Cava, a dusty pink that is now offered as an Amuse Bouche and as part of this collection.

If you need further proof that BITE's new Edgy Neutrals are both edgy and neutral, then let these artsy swatches be the convincing factor.

OMG, it looks like a painting, doesn't it? I love when swatches get artful. But these splotches of color show the range of shades and the incredible richness in these hues.

This is the caption accompanying the swatches and identifying the shades. I cannot decide which ones I want to swipe on my lips. I think Cava and Thistle are my faves.

You can appreciate the browns and the nudes in bullet form.

Cava is such a mod pink. This would look absolutely stunning paired with an extreme cat eye flick.

This is the caption and critical intel about Cava.

The Edgy Neutrals Amuse Bouche lippies are online only and have a $26 price tag.
