Tavi Gevinson Gets Real About Relationships In This ‘Person To Person’ Exclusive Clip

In a brand new clip for the upcoming film Person To Person, Tavi Gevinson gets brutally honest about relationships. The 21-year-old actor gives an engaging performance as she discusses her personal view of a friend's romantic relationship. Gevinson portrays Wendy, a cynical and socially awkward young woman, who, because of her best friend Melanie, finds herself on an impromptu and undesirable double date.

The clip features Wendy's attempt to educate her bestie about her opinions surrounding Melanie's current romantic life with her boyfriend, Scott. Wendy rips right into Melanie's defense of Scott's character. "You defend him and give him these heroic and exaggerated attributes and paint a picture that's not really him," she quips. "I've never seen Scott think deeply about anything other than video games or your body."

Without responding directly to Wendy's claims, Melanie reminds her friend of her initial issue with her misanthropic ways. "I just really detest the way you detest people," she responds.

Wendy is quick to acknowledge Melanie's mention of her character flaws, telling her that she loves her for it. "I know and I love you for that," Wendy retorts as the pair seemingly move about their friendship without a hitch after the passionate discussion.

After making its debut during the Sundance Film Festival in January, Person To Person, which was written and directed by Dustin Guy Defa, hits theaters on July 28. With standout performances from Gevinson, Michael Cera and Abbi Jacobson, Person To Person looks to be one of the summer's must-see movies.
