Here's Why Miley Cyrus Does Her Own Makeup On Shoots Now

According to her recent Harper's Bizarre interview, Miley Cyrus does her own makeup on photoshoots now, and the reason why might surprise you. The singer proves that there's a lot that goes behind personal beauty trends than what meets the eye.

If there's anyone who knows a thing or two about beauty trends, it's Miley Cyrus. She's had her fair share of style phases throughout the year. What started as Hannah Montana soon went to solo singer, which then led to master twerker. In her most recent interview with Harper's Bizarre, she explains some of the reasoning behind her many phases and how beauty had an effect on it.

“People were so shocked by some of the things that I did,” she tells Harper's Bizarre, referring to her twerking period. “It should be more shocking that when I was 11 or 12, I was put in full hair and makeup, a wig, and told what to wear by a group of mostly older men,” Cyrus says in the interview.

Now she's taking control. According to the article, she now does all of her own makeup for shoots.

This isn't the only time she's references the time in her life, as she says, "told what to wear by a group of mostly older men" was troubling for her. In a 2015 interview with Marie Claire, Cyrus says that her time on Hannah Montana brought on "some body dysmorphia" as well.

"I was told for so long what a girl is supposed to be from being on that show," she told Marie Claire. "I was made to look like someone that I wasn't, which probably caused some body dysmorphia because I had been made pretty every day for so long, and then when I wasn't on that show, it was like, 'Who the f*ck am I?'"

All in all, Cyrus makes it clear in her interview with Harper's Bizarre that she's not ashamed of her many phases. If anything, she's helping others who might be feeling the same way.

“I think I show people that they can be themselves,” she told the publication. “I also think something that has been important for me, in this next little, like, transition phase of my career is that I don’t give a f*ck about being cool. I just want to be myself.”

From the looks of her latest covers, it's clear to see that Cyrus knows a thing of two about doing her own makeup. She looks absolutely stunning with her nude lips, soft brows,and subtle glow. One thing that she didn't share in the interview was makeup tips, which I will be patiently waiting for.
