The TOMS x Every Mother Counts Collab Is Here

by Alexa Tucker

If you're a little behind on the Mother's Day gift this year, TOMS has you covered with a present that gives back — and not just to your mom, but moms across the globe. The philanthropic shoe company teamed up with Christy Turlington Burns for the TOMS x Every Mother Counts Orange Rose Collection dropping on May 9.

The collection includes a boho burlap tote and a pair of TOMS Classics that feature orange roses, which is a symbol for maternal health. That's what Every Mother Counts, Turlington Burns' organization, works to improve — they're dedicated to making pregnancy and childbirth safer for women around the world. The collection is also available for kids and youth as well.

"Every two minutes a mother dies from complications related to pregnancy or childbirth. Up to 98 percent of these deaths are preventable," says Turlington Burns. "We know that together with partners like TOMS we will not only be educating many more about the challenges millions of girls and women face around the world when they enter motherhood, we will also be contributing proven solutions to ensure safer deliveries."

For every purchase from the collection, TOMS will donate $5 to Every Mother Counts to help fund their global efforts. This is in addition to the ongoing One For One initiative that TOMS is known for, where they donate a pair of TOMS to a child in need for every pair sold.

Plus, a Mother's Day gift like this is an awesome conversation starter about an organization that does amazing work — and it's a pretty powerful way to say "thank you."
