What Are Kylie Cosmetics’ Fall Lip Kits? You'll Love These Unique Shades
Although we can't get a real confirmation regarding the pregnancy rumors, Kylie Jenner has confirmed that five new lip kit colors will be released for fall, and you'll be able to get your hands on them sooner than you might think. The Kylie Cosmetics' fall lip kits, along with a few other, yet-to-be-announced products, will launch Friday, Oct. 6 at 3 p.m. PT.
Jenner showcased her new lip kits on Thursday in a YouTube video — which was actually Jenner's first YouTube video — alongside her best friend Jordyn Woods. In the video, the two of them try on all of the new shades to see how they look on different skin tones. Normally, Jenner shows Woods her new products early, but this time she kept them a secret so she could get her BFF's initial reaction on camera.
Following the YouTube video, Jenner shared swatches of the different colors on the back of her hand (or what is presumably her hand), before teasing a new purple eyeshadow palette that is in the Kylie Cosmetics fall launch, but that's another article for another day.
The five colors of Kylie Cosmetics' fall lip kits are named Autumn, Hazel, Libra, Butternut, and Wicked, and these shades are unlike any colors Jenner has made in the past. These shades are definitely not what you would expect for a fall collection, which is typically associated with deep, dark hues. In the video, Jenner says she just "wanted this collection to be colors I've never done before, out of the box, and just really fun."
Here are the five new fall Kylie lip kit colors, as worn by Woods and Jenner.
1. Autumn, A Light Red Shade
Even though they look similar in the tube, Autumn is not to be mistaken with Kristen, which is more of a bright red. Autumn is a light red with brown undertones. This shade seems really wearable for every day and would probably look pretty good on most people. It might just be the perfect fall color.
2. Butternut, A Golden Orange Color
This shade is not for the faint of heart, as it takes a very bold person to rock this golden orange hue. In her YouTube video, Jenner said that this shade was inspired "literally by butternut squash soup." But no, she wasn't eating soup when she got the idea for the lip kit shade, but rather she just wanted shades that were reminiscent of fall things.
3. Libra, A Super Pale Pink/Nude Shade
According to Jenner, this is the lightest shade of lip kit ever, and she admits that it's not going to look great on most people. In fact, when Woods applied it, she emphatically declared, "I think it's official, Libra is not for me," and Jenner agreed. But, to make Libra more wearable, Jenner recommends pairing it with her Maliboo lip liner.
4. Wicked, A True Purple
This purple lip kit shade evokes some major Halloween vibes. It is a true purple, not a berry or a magenta, so it looks surprisingly good on most skin tones. Woods was a big fan of this shade, as was Jenner, who said she would wear this shade to a party. Luckily she's pretty popular, so she'll have plenty of opportunities to rock this bold color.
5. Hazel, A Light Brown Color
Hazel is a light brown shade most similar to Brown Sugar. It looked really good on both women. It's a little more subtle on Woods, and a little more noticeable on Jenner, but you can probably assume that it'll look pretty good on you too.
You can shop all of these shades (and possibly a few new products) on Friday, Oct. 6 at 3 p.m. PT on Kyliecosmetics.com.
