Here's Where To Get S'mores Girl Scout Cookies

Get ready, team, because this is not a drill: Girl Scout Cookie season is nearly upon us. You might be wondering: Where can I get S'mores Girl Scout Cookies? After all, this new S'mores flavor is in honor of the Girl Scouts' 100 year anniversary — and it's definitely not something you're going to want to miss.

According to the Girl Scouts' official blog, the S'mores cookie flavor, which was first announced in August of 2016, actually comes in two varieties; which one is available to you will depend on your location. (Remember that whole thing where Girl Scout Cookies are made by two different bakeries? That's what we're talking about here). The Little Brownie Bakers version is a "crunchy graham sandwich cookie with creamy chocolate and marshmallowy filling"; meanwhile, the second option, made by ABC Bakers, offers a tantalizing treat described as a "crispy graham cookie double dipped with a yummy creme icing and a scrumptious chocolatey coating." If you ask me, both sound delightful!

Even if you aren't crazy about S'mores, fret not! All of your old favorites are still available, including Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, and beyond. And yes, they're expected to retail for their standard $4 a box, making them an affordable treat. There are even vegan Girl Scout cookies available, though you should always double check labels and ingredients yourself if you have dietary restrictions or needs. And don't forget, there are tons of fun recipes you can make with Girl Scout cookies in the comfort of your own home.

So, how tough is it to get your hands on these delightful boxes of joy? Provided you live near anyone selling Girl Scout cookies, you should be A-OK. I've broken down the most common ways to find S'mores Girl Scout Cookies, or any of their other cookies, below. Happy snacking!

1The Official Girl Scout Cookie Finder

Go to this handy website, courtesy of the Girl Scouts, and type in your zip code. Then you'll see an estimate of when cookie sales will begin in your area. In my area (Washington, D.C.), for example, it looks like cookies will hit in 37 days.

2The Little Brownie Bakers Cookie Finder

For the sake of variety, you can use a similar approach over at the Little Brownie Bakers website. Just enter your zipcode and you'll be told how many days until cookies arrive in your area; you can also set up an alert for when the big day hits.

3The Girl Scout Cookie Finder iPhone App

If you live and die by your iPhone, no worries! There's an app to help you get your cookies, too. The Girl Scout Cookie iPhone app comes to us courtesy of Girl Scouts and is available for free. You type in your zipcode and are given options for where you can purchase cookies in your area. You can also learn more about the types of cookies sold, ingredients lists, and so on.

4The Girl Scout Cookie Finder Android App

Live with Android device in your palm? Fret not, cookies are not far from your reach. Similar to the iPhone app, the Girl Scout Cookie Finder for Android app allows you to search by your zipcode and discover where Girl Scouts are setting up shop and selling near you.

5Buy From Your Local Girl Scouts

Your neighbor, the child of your coworker, your distant relative... Girl Scouts abound. Ask their parent if they sell Girl Scout cookies, or if they know someone who does. You can usually buy directly from an individual Girl Scout; some even have links where you can purchase the cookies online and still help out their troop. Perfect, right?
