Where Is Daenerys In The New 'GoT' Pics?

HBO recently released the very first photos from the upcoming new seven-episode season of its widely popular show Game of Thrones, and the pics have left us with more questions than answers. Most importantly, where is Daenerys Targaryen? If you recall, at the end of Season 6 Dany and her advisors were in transit. They’d crossed the Narrow Sea and were en route home so that Dany could take the Iron Throne.

In the new photos we see that Dany, along with her army and team of advisors (Tyrion Lannister, Varys, Missandei, and Grey Worm), have arrived somewhere, but where exactly? Although we don’t have any confirmation of any sorts, my best guess is that they’ve landed at Dragonstone, the long-time home to House Targaryen.

Dragonstone is an island castle located in Blackwater Bay, off the coast of King's Landing. It became Lord Stannis Baratheon's home after Robert's Rebellion, also known as the War of the Usurper. But after being killed by Brienne of Tarth for his role in Renly's death, Baratheon would be unable to defend Dragonstone, making it the perfect location for Dany's army to take over. Additionally, the due to the fact that the castle was built using advanced Valyrian techniques, and that it is located in an isolated location, it would also be easy for Danny’s army — and perhaps her dragons — to defend from attacks.

In the photo HBO released of just Dany, she appears to be in the same unfamiliar throne room that she was in when we caught a glimpse of her in the recent "Sit Down" promo video.

Whether it’s Dragonstone, or a totally new location, one thing is for sure: The Mother of Dragons is planning an invasion of the Seven Kingdoms. Will she be able to the Iron Throne, which Queen Cersei is defending after the death of her son? Only time will tell! Season 7 of Game of Thrones will premiere on July 16, 2017, and I’ll definitely be watching.
