Britney Spears' Boyfriend Gave The Singer A Romantic Birthday Gift & The Video Is Incredibly Sweet

by Sophy Ziss

On Dec. 2, Britney Spears celebrated her 36th birthday with the most romantic gift from her rumored boyfriend. So, who is Britney Spears' boyfriend? Sam Asghari, the fitness model and occasional actor, have been dating the singer for the better part of a year. According to People, they reportedly met on the set of her video for the song "Slumber Party," and have had a publicly adorable relationship ever since. Spears confirmed the relationship in a January 2017 interview on CBS radio, according to Us Weekly. All anyone wants is for Spears to be happy, and Asghari seems to fit the bill. But who is he, actually? Also, does he have any siblings that might be interested in dating a lifelong Britney Spears fan? Just wondering.

As seen on Instagram, Asghari honored Spears' special day with a room full of candles. It wasn't just candles, though: There were also shiny balloons, rose petals in the shape of a heart, luscious-looking cupcakes, and more, all lovingly arranged in the room to surprise the pop star with. Spears, dressed in an amazing backless dress — who wouldn't walk around like that on their birthday, even at home? — walks into the room, awed, and her reaction is so sweet it could probably alter the space-time continuum. "Happy birthday, baby!" says Asghari, and Spears responds 'Thank you!" before crouching down to go right for the cupcakes. She's perfect, obviously, and now it seems like she's got the perfect companion.

Sam Asghari is younger than Spears; he was born in 1994, which makes him 23 years old at the time of the birthday surprise. He's also Iranian. As he's posted about on social media, Asghari emigrated to the United States with his family in 2007. He still makes an effort to read and write in Farsi whenever possible, and occasionally adds hashtags like "#Persian" to his posts. He also really, really seems to love Britney Spears. According to Us Weekly, the two first met on the set of her music video for "Slumber Party," where they bonded over sushi and he gave her his phone number after the shoot.

"He has no idea … I mean, he knows my name but he doesn’t really know me as a person. He's like, 'What is this girl like?' and I have no idea who the hell he is, you know?" she told CBS Radio in a January 2017 interview, according to the Us Weekly article. "We started talking about sushi and started talking about things we like and like we should go to sushi one day.”

"Slumber Party" wasn't his first video, though. Fifth Harmony stans will recognize him from the video for "Work From Home," and fame seems to run in the family; according to The Sun, his sister Fay has already begun to walk in Fashion Week.

Since they first seemed to start seeing each other back in 2016, they've grown so much more comfortable with being openly affectionate to each other. For fans, it's exciting that Spears feels comfortable, secure, and supported enough to share her new relationship with the world. It doesn't hurt that he's a multilingual fitness model in his early 20s and appears to be a good person. Who wouldn't fall in love with that?

It's heartwarming to see that Sam Asghari is treating her so well. He takes Spears hiking and on dinner dates, and he has a flexible, promising career and about half a million Instagram followers. There seems to be a lot of love between the couple.

Spears has been more active on social media lately; in every picture with Asghari, she's absolutely beaming. As she should be — it looks like Asghari worships her. He gushes in every caption about how wonderful Spears is, and it's obvious how much they treasure one another. She deserves this solid, exciting relationship. And now that the people are #TeamAsghari, this dude better not let them down.
