With Stars Wars: The Last Jedi now in theaters, actor John Boyega is back in the spotlight promoting the film. The actor, who is every bit as charming and good looking as his character Finn, has got plenty people asking: Who is John Boyega’s dating? Or, for that matter, is he even dating at all? Come on, I know it's not just me searching the web for his late-night talk show appearances just so I can smile at his big, blindingly bright, beautiful smile.

As it stands right now, the 25-year-old English actor hasn't openly talked about a current relationship. While there are rumors going around that he's taken (sorry, ladies), with pictures circulating on some sites of him walking hand-in-hand with a lovely unnamed woman, the pics are far from definitive. From what can be seen from a not stalker-ish deep dive, no source, named or otherwise, close to Boyega has confirmed a romantic entanglement. A quick scroll through the most recent press images available from various Star Wars premiere red carpets do not feature Boyega with the unnamed woman, but there are some must-see shots of him with his whole family, including his sweet little nephew.

Hey, maybe he's just a lot like his character was in The Force Awakens, ready to grab a woman's hand at a moment's notice!

Despite having one of the coolest jobs in any galaxy, his place in the Star Wars universe hasn't always helped his love life. When Boyega was on the Graham Norton Show last April, he told a story about how the flames of a new romance were extinguished after the woman he was seeing learned about his high-profile role.

According to Boyega, he was dating this woman in New York City back in 2015, before Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Boyega's big film break) had been released. In his words, the relationship was "perfect." Then, one fateful drive through Times Square led everything to change. Boyega explained:

"I know Orlando [Bloom], and he gave me some advice before Star Wars 7 came out. He said, 'Try to secure the love of your life before this stuff happens.' And I did. I did the whole process — she didn’t know what I did. Until we were driving through Times Square and she goes, 'What do you do for a living?" I looked up and I said, 'That.' It was me with saber."

While realizing that the guy you're dating is part of the biggest sci-fi blockbuster franchise of all time would be a selling point to some people, it didn't work out quite that well for Boyega and this former lady friend. "That picture in itself just kind of affected her whole stance," he said.

Meanwhile, Bloom seems to be giving the younger actor relationship tips left and right. The Lord of the Rings star also appears as a minor character in Boyega's GQ profile with Anna Peele from last July. During the interview, Boyega told Peele about the time Bloom and Robert Downey Jr. offered love advice over waffles.

Boyega asked his agent to set up a meeting with the Iron Man star to discuss the proper ways to balance fame and personal lives — an issue Downey had to grapple with quite publicly for sometime. Soon after Boyega was invited over to the other actor's house. While they were eating, Bloom walked in. The Detroit star saw this as his chance to ask their opinion on what he should look for in a new relationship. "People advise you as a celebrity, ‘Make sure you get someone who doesn't care about your career.’ Mmmm… I disagree," Boyega explained. Bloom and Downey agreed with his assessment, telling him, "She has to care about it to understand it.”

Finding someone long-term is important to Boyega. In the same profile he explained that he is inspired by his parents' relationship. Boyega told Peele, "My mom and dad have been together for 25 years, so that's the system I will follow." (Excuse me while I swoon.)

While Boyega's current relationship status might not be public, he's definitely a catch. Hopefully, whoever he does settle down with cares about his Star Wars career, but not so much that she'll be affected every time she sees him with a lightsaber.
