Jessica DiLaurentis' 'PLL' Killer Is Unexpected

Mysteries are myriad on Pretty Little Liars, but one of them is finally wrapping up! Who killed Jessica DiLaurentis on Pretty Little Liars? Mrs. D. has been dead since Season 4, murdered by an unknown assailant. Charlotte, her niece, found Jessica’s body and buried it in the DiLaurentis backyard, much like Bethany Young’s body was hidden back there (it must be a hot spot for graves). For three seasons, her death has been a regular whodunit (I mostly forgot about it, to be honest), but now the mystery has been solved! Mary Drake killed Jessica DiLaurentis on Pretty Little Liars.

Originally, it was insinuated that Charlotte was the one who offed her aunt, but she really only found her body and gave her as proper a burial as she could given the circumstances because, as she said, "Mom was the only person who ever really loved me." Instead, the person who killed Jessica was much closer than niece — it was her own sister! Jessica told Mary that Charlotte, her daughter, was dead, and when Mary found out that that wasn't the case, Mary went ballistic and wanted revenge on her sister. She also tried to drag Peter Hastings into it, too, attempting to frame him for the murder (that didn't stick).

For me, this was a little bit of a let-down. I wanted the person who killed Jessica to be a little bigger than her committed twin sister. What if Jessica is alive and Mary is actually dead? What if Jessica is the one who has been running around making confessions to Spencer and being in the blind school and wreaking havoc on Rosewood? Honestly, in this town, stranger things have happened.
