Bobbi Kristina Will Be Evaluated With Autopsy
The past six months have been heartbreaking for the Brown and Houston families, and unfortunately, Sunday, July 26 brought the news that no one wanted to hear. After being found unconscious in her Roswell, Georgia home on January 31, Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away on Sunday surrounded by her loved ones. Even now, six months later, there's still plenty of mystery about what caused Bobbi Kristina's death, and it sounds like her family will, hopefully, get the answers they're looking for. The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office told the Associated Press that an autopsy will be performed on Bobbi Kristina's body, and they're hoping it will lead to clues about what caused her to be found unresponsive in the first place.
Unfortunately, the autopsy may not be as conclusive as it is in most cases, since such a toll has been taken on her body after months of being unconscious. The medical examiner's office told the AP that the amount of time that has passed will "complicate" things. However, it does sound like although it will be "challenging", they're remaining hopeful that they will be able to learn more about what could have led to her death. An official statement from the medical examiner's office reads,
Interpretation of autopsy findings and other information will also be challenging. However, an autopsy could be helpful to address questions which may arise about the cause of her unresponsiveness and eventual death.
So, when will we know more? An exact date for the autopsy results has not been released, but it could take several weeks for testing to be completed, according to the medical examiner's office. The office also added that the police investigation into "circumstances preceding and surrounding the time of the original incident leading to her death" will also continue.
Kristin Foster, the family's rep, released this statement on Sunday about Bobbi Kristina's death:
Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away July, 26 2015, surrounded by her family. She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.
