What Did Bobbi Kristina's Autopsy Reveal?
It may have only been days since Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away in a hospice care facility in Duluth, Georgia, but the early results of her autopsy have come in. On Monday, the Fulton County, Georgia Medical Examiner's Office released a statement explaining that the time that elapsed between when Bobbi Kristina was found unconscious in her home on Jan. 31 and when she died on July 26 would complicate their ability to figure out what exactly led to her death. The examiner's office also said that autopsy results could take several weeks, so it might surprise those who have been following the story to hear that there's been such a quick turn around on some of the results. According, to CBS News, the preliminary results of Bobbi Kristina Brown's autopsy are in.
The preliminary results show that the medical examiner didn't find any evidence of any "unknown medical conditions" that could be related to the death and found "no significant injuries." The next step? The medical examiner's office is ordering tests and subpoenaing documents to help put the clues together so that they can finally give Bobbi Kristina's family the answers they've been waiting for.
The medical examiner's office released the following statement on their findings to Us Weekly:
The initial portion of the autopsy has been completed. The autopsy does not show an obvious underlying cause of death and no significant injuries were noted. No previously unknown medical conditions that could have contributed to death were identified. Subpoenas have been issued to obtain needed documentary information. We do not plan to complete the death certificate or determine a cause and manner of death until all test results are completed and all investigative, medical, and other documentary records are received and thoroughly reviewed. We anticipate that these processes will take several weeks.
The good news is that it's still early, and the medical examiner sounds determined to find out as much information about Bobbi Kristina's death as tests will allow. Hopefully, we will have more answers in the coming weeks, and her family will be able to find peace in knowing exactly what went wrong.
According to People, Bobbi Kristina's funeral is planned for Thursday, July 30, after which she will reportedly be buried beside her mother, Whitney Houston, in New Jersey. After her death on Monday, Bobbi Kristina's family's rep released the following statement:
Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away July, 26 2015, surrounded by her family. She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.
