7 Time-Saving Beauty Products

by Sara Tardiff

In my opinion, spending hours upon hours on perfecting a look isn't quite as great as being a little lazy and using time-saving beauty tools on the daily. You still invest in your appearance with one minute facials and a little bit of mascara, but you're out the door in 10 minutes flat. None of that intensive prep for a night out is ideal for us lazy beauty lovers — I'm all about working with what you've got and emphasizing your best features with as little [work]EFFORT as possible. At heart, I'm just a product minimalist and prefer to keep my beauty bag as light as possible. Instead of splurging on a few key designer products, why not get more for your dollar? Beauty products that have several different uses make for a more organized cabinet and a more diverse range of looks at your disposal, with little added effort.

Although you can use plenty of the products you already own in a multitude of ways (lipliner as unique-colored eyeliner, lip balm as cheek gloss, body oil on your split ends), multi-purpose products can make your makeup techniques even simpler. You can transition from lips to hair to body in a matter of moments with the right collection of beauty tools, while still maintaining that effortlessly glowing demeanor. Check out a few multi-use beauty favorites of mine that will help refresh your beauty routine.

1. For Changing Your Lipstick From Day to Night

When I saw these Luminous Creme Stick Duos from Bite Beauty, I felt as though I was in the presence of beauty genius. Never again will you accidentally have six different lipsticks in your purse, just because your indecisiveness has taken hold. With two very different (yet equally gorgeous) shades on one stick, you can transition from work to play with a single swipe.

2. For Brightening And Concealing

When you wake up with dark circles under your eyes, the best way to disguise your lack of sleep is by making sure the rest of your skin looks as fresh as possible. The quickest way to do that is to highlight your cheek and brow bones. With Susan Posnick's Color Correct sticks, you can cover up your dark circles with one end and bright up the rest of your face with the other!

3. For Softer Lips and Cuticles + A Dewy Complexion

There is nothing I love more than a multi-purpose balm, especially when it smells like the tropics. Glossier's Coconut Balm Dot Calm is designed to take on nearly all of your beauty woes, from rough skin to dull lips. Plus, if you want to try out that wet-chic makeup look everyone is obsessing over at the moment, apply it to your lids and cheeks. Made with castor seed oil and beeswax, this little tube is all about greasing your body up in the best way imaginable.

4. For Glowing Cheeks, Lips, and Eyes

Nars' The Multiple (in Orgasm, obviously) is the ultimate beauty product. You can swipe it from cheeks to lips to eyes, and not look like you just applied a layer of sparkly pink foundation to your entire face. It achieves the type of glow that usually requires a beach day.

5. For Quality Nail Color + A Sparkly Finish

For a one-stop manicure that's a little funkier than the usual, try Laqa & Co.'s Manicure Duos. They are super long-lasting and provide gorgeous color to a naked set of nails.

6. For Different Kinds Of Dramatic Lashes

This Korean beauty goldmine is too cute to pass up! Not only is the Dinoplatz Escalator Mascara an amazing lengthening formula, but the head is adjustable and allows you to turn up the volume as much or as little as you want. Twist the nob once and the head lengthens to create longer, curled lashes. Twist again and you'll get a narrow head for a bolder, more volumized look.

7. For Removing Eye Makeup + Moisturizing Skin

After wiping your face down with some makeup remover, does your skin ever feel super tight and stingy? That's probably because your makeup wipes aren't contributing any moisture to your skin. For a more soothing feel, try The Body Shop's Camomile Gentle Eye Makeup Remover. Not only does it fully remove your eye makeup, but it conditions the skin around the eye leaving it soft and irritation-free.
