I try not to compare my bank account to that of a certain 17-year-old because, well, as her older sister, Khloe Kardashian, put it, Kylie Jenner is "a special case." While Khloe was talking about Kylie's dating life, separate from that, I can agree that being a reality star for most of your life and part of the most recognizable family in entertainment will definitely make your teenage savings a little more hefty than your average American teenager. So, while I am tirelessly scouring through overpriced dingy Brooklyn apartments with no windows (but they have a ceiling fan!), Kylie Jenner is out there in L.A. buying herself a mansion. I get that she's "a special case", but just how special are we talking? How much was Kylie Jenner's house?
Being that she is part of the Kardashian clan, it can't be all that difficult to afford a mansion. In February of this year, it was reported that Kylie bought a $2.7 million home in Calabasas, after she vowed to leave her momma Kris Jenner's house as soon as she turned 18. Well, her 18th birthday is on August 10, 2015, so she did things a little bit early. And she definitely hasn't been hiding the fact that she is spending a pretty penny to decorate her first house ever.
So, how does a 17-year-old afford a $2.7 million home? Quite easily, actually. If you look up Kylie's net worth, she is estimated to have built her little empire to approximately $5 million, and I have no doubt that number will continue to rise steadily. According to sources at Perez Hilton, Kris helped to broker the deal on her daughter's home and her new spot will only be a few blocks away from Kourtney and Khloe's homes, so family is never too far away.
Kylie made headlines earlier this year when she shared with U.K. In Style that her mom cut her off financially three years ago, but don't think she wasn't able to still save up during that time. A source told E! News, "Kris has always taught the girls about the importance of financial responsibility and independence... Kris made sure she paid for Kylie's car, for medical, for housing, for food, for vacations. If they wanted extras they had to buy extras." OK, Kris, bravo for that one because your girl seems to be doing alright!
Throughout the years, Kylie and her sister Kendall have had their own joint ventures, including a book deal and clothing collections with PacSun and TopShop. Along with their clothing lines, Kylie has her own line of clip-in hair extensions with Bellami Hair that helped the 17-year-old with millions of fans become a young millionaire. Because Kylie vowed to move out as soon as she turned 18, she has been busy decorating and has shared some photos of her new place via social media. And yep, I am more jealous than ever, because she is about to be living an even sweeter life than before. Enjoy it, Kylie!
