14 Can't-Miss 'Vacation' Cameos

The new Vacation reboot has finally been released to the world, and although it isn't the hit with critics that its predecessor was, there's one area where the new movie blows the old one out of the water (besides poop jokes). I'm talking about those cameos: Vacation is filled with more cameos than almost any film that comes to mind, so much so that there's a familiar face in virtually every scene.

That's not to say that the original Vacation was completely devoid of cameos. Although it wasn't nearly as cameo-heavy as this new installment, it still had its fair share. For instance, supermodel Christie Brinkley made her film debut in her extended cameo as the beautiful blonde in the Ferrari who routinely shows up to tempt Chevy Chase's Clark Griswold. Jane Krakowski, of 30 Rock and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt fame, also had her debut in the film as a child actor. Comic actors Eugene Levy and Brian Doyle-Murray appear as a ripoff artist car salesman and a ripoff artist campground owner, respectively. Even comedy powerhouse John Candy pops up toward the end as a security guard at Wally World, paving the way for his future timeless collaborations (Uncle Buck, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, Home Alone) with screenwriter John Hughes.

But those notable appearances still can't compete with the sheer volume of cameos put forth in the new film, below:

1. Chris Hemsworth

In what is already the most talked about scene in the new movie, Thor himself parades around in his underwear while sporting a giant prosthetic penis. He's also a southern redneck conservative. Did I mention this was Thor?

2. Leslie Mann

One of the most talented comedy actors of our time (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up) takes her skills to the Griswolds in the new film, becoming the fourth actress to play the role of Audrey Griswold. She's also married to Chris Hemsworth's character, so there's that.

3. Norman Reedus

Daryl Dixon from The Walking Dead trades in his crossbow for an 18 wheeler in Vacation, where he plays a trucker who also may be a pedophile. Fun!

4. Charlie Day

The It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia star had a starring role in the Horrible Bosses movies, which were also written by Vacation writer/directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, so it's no surprise he helps them out here. He plays a suicidal rafting guide in the film.

5. Kaitlin Olson

Speaking of It's Always Sunny, Olson shows up in the film as well, as one of four cops from four different states patrolling the Four Corners Monument.

6. Nick Kroll

Star of Kroll Show and boyfriend to Amy Poehler, funnyman Kroll is another Four Corners cop.

7. Michael Peña

When he's not stealing the show in Ant-Man as a criminal, Peña is hamming it up as another Four Corners cop in Vacation.

8. Tim Heidecker

The Tim of Tim and Eric appears as, you guessed it, the fourth Four Corners cop.

9. Ron Livingston

Perhaps hoping to lend some of the comedy magic that made Office Space so great, the star of that film gets punched in the face by Ed Helms here.

10. Hannah Davis

Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Davis takes over for Brinkley as the hot girl in the Ferrari, but she suffers a far worse fate in the new film.

11. Colin Hanks

Tom Hanks' son and star of Fargo, Colin plays a guy named Jake in the new film.

12. Keegan Michael Key

Half of Key and Peele plays the patriarch of the Griswolds' next door neighbors, who have much better luck on their vacation.

13. John Francis Daley, Samm Levine, And Martin Starr (Almost)

Co-writer/director Daley shot a scene reuniting himself with his fellow geeks from Freaks and Geeks, Levine and Starr, but had to cut it from the movie. Not to worry though, the scene will make it onto the DVD/Blu-Ray special features.

14. Chevy Chase And Beverly D'Angelo

You didn't really think they'd make a Vacation movie without Clark and Ellen Griswold, did you?

14 cameos is a lot for one film, but if any franchise can handle it, it's Vacation.
